The head-up tilt test (HUTT) is a fundamental tool for the clinical diagnosis of unexplained syncope. While HUTT has been extensively employed in adult populations for over three decades, its application in pediatric cases remains relatively limited. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to perform a multi-dimensional evaluation of HUTT in pediatric patients.

Methods: 478 metoprolol-treated paediatric patients with VVS were enrolled from three syncope units and divided into retrospective training (March 2017-March 2023, n = 323) and prospective validation cohorts (April 2023-March 2024, n = 155).
A novel series of alkynyl-linked oligomerized electron acceptors have been synthesized via Sonogashira coupling. The alkynyl linkages can enhance molecular planarity and aggregation, suppress electron-phonon coupling, and reduce non-radiative losses. Binary organic solar cells (OSCs) achieved an efficiency of 17.

Clinically, psychogenic pseudosyncope shares certain similarities with vasovagal syncope in terms of pre-syncope symptoms and triggers, making it sometimes difficult to differentiate and easily misdiagnosed. Therefore, placing emphasis upon the characteristics of psychogenic pseudosyncope is crucial for early identification and treatment, which holds significant importance for the mental and psychological health of children and adolescents.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLiver fibrosis is a significant precursor to cirrhosis and liver cancer, yet effective treatments remain elusive. Our previous studies demonstrated that Bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) has therapeutic effects, though it performed poorly at medium concentrations. To address this limitation, BSP underwent selenization modification.

It is difficult to distinguish them clinically. This paper will study the differential diagnostic value of P wave dispersion (Pd) and QT interval dispersion (QTd) between PPS and VVS.

Understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying leaf size is therefore important for rapeseed breeding. In this study, QTL mapping for three traits related to leaf size, i.

Currently, more and more scholars choose to use cascaded networks to achieve coarse-to-fine registration. Although cascaded networks take a lot of time in the training and inference stages, they can improve registration performance.

Tumor cells intrinsic mitochondria dynamics could pass effects on the extracellular microenvironment through mtDNA stress. PGAM5 anchors at mitochondria and regulates mitochondria functions.

Modulating microglial activation is a potential strategy for developing protective treatments for central nervous system (CNS)-related diseases. Fibrates, widely used in clinical practice as cholesterol-lowering medications, exhibit numerous biological activities, such as anticancer and antiinflammatory activities.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLiver organoids have been increasingly adopted as a critical in vitro model to study liver development and diseases. However, the pre-vascularization of liver organoids without affecting liver parenchymal specification remains a long-lasting challenge, which is essential for their application in regenerative medicine. Here, the large-scale formation of pre-vascularized human hepatobiliary organoids (vhHBOs) is presented without affecting liver epithelial specification via a novel strategy, namely nonparenchymal cell grafting (NCG).

This study aimed to investigate the association between mental fatigue and changes in electroencephalogram microstate dynamics during tasks with varying attention demands. In the present study, we employed a 2 × 2 repeated measures ANOVA to analyze the temporal parameters of four distinct microstates (A, B, C, and D) across different levels of attention demands (high vs.

Cu/Cu site is beneficial for C-C coupling process, but the oxidation state of copper cannot be well maintained during the reaction process, resulting in a decrease in catalyst activity. Based on this consideration, in this work, transition metal oxide CeO with a hollow cube structure and oxygen vacancies was introduced to stabilize and increase Cu/Cu active sites (CeCu).

It is known to be promoted by the activation of various signaling pathways and the dysregulation of key regulatory molecules. One such molecule, 5'-nucleotidase domain containing 2 (NT5DC2), has been identified as a critical regulator in various cancers including lung cancer.

While most cases in the paraspinal posterior mediastinum are clinically indolent, they can also exhibit aggressive growth, leading to severe clinical outcomes and necessitating urgent treatment.

Background: Abdominal surgery is a common surgical procedure that is frequently associated with substantial postoperative pain. However, rescue analgesia using opioids is associated with several adverse effects. The transversus abdominis plane block (TAPB) has been demonstrated to be effective as part of multimodal analgesia.

In response to the challenge of telomere attrition during DNA replication, cancer cells predominantly employ telomerase or, in 10-15% of cases, the alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT). The intricate details of ALT, however, remain elusive. In this study, we unveil that the knockdown of lamina-associated polypeptide 2 alpha (LAP2α) in ALT cells results in telomere dysfunction, triggering a notable increase in ALT-associated hallmarks, including high frequencies of PML bodies (APBs), C-rich extrachromosomal circles (C-circles), and telomere sister chromatid exchange (T-SCE).
