Phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks) are heterodimers consisting of a p110 catalytic subunit and a p85 regulatory subunit. The gene, which encodes the p110α, is the most frequently mutated oncogene in cancer. Oncogenic mutations activate the PI3K pathway, promote tumor initiation and development, and mediate resistance to anti-tumor treatments, making the mutant p110α an excellent target for cancer therapy.

The Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit sets the lower bound of the carrier mean free path for coherent quasiparticle transport. Metallicity beyond this limit is of great interest because it is often closely related to quantum criticality and unconventional superconductivity. Progress along this direction mainly focuses on the strange-metal behaviors originating from the evolution of the quasiparticle scattering rate, such as linear-in-temperature resistivity, while the quasiparticle coherence phenomena in this regime are much less explored due to the short mean free path at the diffusive bound.

Aneurysms are often associated with connective tissue disorders, but most occur sporadically and are nonsyndromic. Manifestations of these nonsyndromic arteriopathies across genders and age groups have not been discussed extensively in previous studies, especially in younger cohorts. We analyzed data from 84,496 patients in the Mayo Clinic Tapestry DNA Sequencing Study, excluding those with known vascular syndromes.

Objective: Self-determination theory (SDT) deems that people have three causality orientations: autonomy orientation, control orientation, and impersonal orientation. Previous studies suggested that lower autonomy orientation or higher control and impersonal orientations may be associated with more addictive behaviors. Our study aimed to investigate if these associations exist in Internet gaming disorder (IGD), and if sensation seeking, anxiety, and depression could influence the associations between causality orientations and IGD symptoms.

We propose and demonstrate what we believe to be a novel method for measuring the polarization direction of a microwave electric field in a single measurement using a Rydberg atom-based mixer with two orthogonally polarized local microwave electric fields. This approach eliminates the need for physical rotation of the local field, allowing the polarization angle of the signal field to be determined directly by measuring the ratio of the two beat signals. Furthermore, introducing a weak static magnetic field enables the utilization of the Zeeman effect and exploitation of polarization asymmetry.

Multiple and sensitive mycotoxin detection is an essential early-warning mechanism for safeguarding human health, and preserving the environment. We synthesized a turn-on Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) aptamer sensor based on the unique fluorescence quenching and substrate recognition characteristics of Ag NTs (energy receptors) and aptamer modified FeO@TiO NP (energy donor) to detect multiple toxins using a single diagnostic approach. The addition of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and ochratoxin A (OTA) resulted in a change in fluorescence intensity at 510 and 650 nm, which can be employed for simultaneous recognition with detection limits of 0.

Hexagonal rings are critical to the properties of many nanomaterials by determining their mechanical strength, thermal stability, and electrical conductivity, therefore this kind of structure has been intensively concerned in computational studies. However, existing molecular dynamics (MD) simulation tools lack specialized functions for identifying and characterizing them. To address this gap, we developed HexagonRingCalculator, a tool for identifying hexagonal rings and calculating their geometric properties, including bond lengths, ring area, and circularity, directly from MD simulation data.
