Descriptions of larvae of three species of Hydropsyche Pictet 1834 (Trichoptera, Hydropsychidae) from China.

Adults and larvae of the genus Hydropsyche from Yun-nan and Si-chuan Provinces, China, were examined and the COI barcode gene sequences were obtained and analyzed, adults and larvae of 3 species were successfully associated. Of them, H. uvana Mey 1995 is a new record for the Chinese caddisfly fauna.

Paget's disease of bone (PDB) is a common metabolic bone disease that is characterized by aberrant focal bone remodeling, which is caused by excessive osteoclastic bone resorption followed by disorganized osteoblastic bone formation. Genetic factors are a critical determinant of PDB pathogenesis, and several susceptibility genes and loci have been reported, including SQSTM1, TNFSF11A, TNFRSF11B, VCP, OPTN, CSF1 and DCSTAMP. [Postoperative change of the Bielschowsky head tilt test in patients with unilateral congenital superior oblique palsy].

Objective: To investigate the postoperative changes of the head tilt test in patients with unilateral congenial superior oblique palsy.

Methods: Thirty-eight cases with congenital unilateral superior oblique palsy underwent the ipsilateral inferior oblique or/and contralateral inferior rectus weakening procedure. Bielschowsky head tilt test was evaluated quantitatively before and after the operation by the prism cover test while the patient fixated at 33 cm and 6 m on the small light target.

Selection for imidacloprid resistance in Nilaparvata lugens: cross-resistance patterns and possible mechanisms.

A field population of brown planthoppers (Nilaparvata lugens Stål) was collected and selected for imidacloprid resistance in the laboratory. The resistance increased by 11.35 times in 25 generations and the resistance ratio reached 72.

Mechanisms of monocrotophos resistance in cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner).

Insensitive acetylcholinesterase was identified as a resistance mechanism by comparing biochemical analysis with a laboratory selected monocrotophos resistant cotton bollworm (RR: 200) and the susceptible strain. The cDNA encoding AChE was cloned by the method of RACE (rapid amplification of cDNA ends). The complete AChE gene deduced from the cDNA consisted of a putative signal peptide of 32 amino acid residues, a mature protein of 615 residues, 5' untranslated regions (UTR) of 315 bp and 3' UTR of 324 bp.
