Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in women worldwide. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a novel class of endogenous noncoding RNA with a covalently closed continuous loop that lacks the 5'-cap structure and the 3'-poly A tail, are more stable than linear RNAs and less susceptible to degradation by nucleases. CircRNAs are widespread in multiple mammalian genomes and have been detected in various tissues, cells and body fluids.

Cancer genomic studies have identified frequent alterations in genes encoding components of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, including SMARCA4 and ARID1A. Importantly, clinical reports indicate that SMARCA4-mutant lung cancers respond poorly to immunotherapy and have dismal prognosis. Here, we corroborated the clinical findings by using immune-humanized, syngeneic, and genetically engineered mouse models of lung cancer harboring SMARCA4 deficiency.

Gefitinib exhibits significant clinical efficacy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) sensitive mutations. However, its efficacy is severely limited by acquired resistance. Herein, we designed and synthesized a series of dual-targeting thioredoxin reductase (TrxR)-EGFR gold complexes by attaching a gold ligand to the parent structure of gefitinib, 4-anilinoquinazoline.

Given the high computational complexity and poor real-time performance of current photovoltaic cell surface defect detection methods, this study proposes a lightweight model, YOLOv8-FSD, based on YOLOv8. By introducing the FasterNet network to replace the original backbone network, computational complexity and memory access are reduced. A thin neck structure designed based on hybrid convolution technology is adopted to reduce model parameters and computational load further.

The localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect can effectively utilize and transform solar energy, which is an ideal candidate to solve the energy crisis. In particular, plasmon hot carriers generated by LSPR effect are the focus of current research because their energy characteristics are higher than the Fermi level, which can easily promote the chemical reaction on the catalysts and improve the photoelectric performance of the optoelectronic devices. In this review, the generation of hot carriers and their decay pathways under different nano-structured models are discussed, and their unique significance is highlighted.

Emerging contaminants (ECs) pose great challenges to water treatment technology due to their complexity and high harm. In this paper, the method of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma coupled with iron-based catalyst (FeNC) activating periodate (PI) was first designed for ECs removal. The ingenious introduction of FeNC not only promotes the Fenton-like reaction of DBD system but also reduces the PI activation energy barrier and accelerates the electron shuttle between PI and pollutants.

Under mild visible light conditions, formates facilitate C-O cleavage the EDA complex and SCS strategy, yielding α-carbonyl alkyl radicals. These radicals then react with olefins under air conditions, leading to the synthesis of diaryl 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds. Mechanistic studies reveal that α-formyloxy ketone is generated by the reaction between α-brominated acetophenone and formates, followed by the formation of the EDA complex.

Tumor hypoxia is a critical driver of cancer progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance, posing significant challenges in effective cancer treatment. Hypoxia-activable prodrugs offer a promising strategy to target tumors in low-oxygen conditions, but their efficacy is often hindered by intrinsic properties and extrinsic cues. In this study, we developed a dual-prodrug nanoassembly system (CPPA) composed of a hypoxia-triggerable camptothecin (CPT)-based dimeric prodrug (CP) and a lipid-conjugated STAT3 antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) prodrug (PA), aiming to enhance tumor-targeted chemotherapy and overcome the immune evasion within the tumor microenvironment.

The selective Au deposition at the Au-substrate interface is known to give ultrathin Au nanowires and the synthesis usually employs strong thiol-based ligands. It is shown that, by increasing the rate of Au deposition, weak cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) can be made to behave like a strong ligand, so that it induces Active Surface Growth and gives Au nanowires. The ligand strength also depends on the packing interactions in the ligand layer, in the order of CTAB, CTAB, and CTAB.
