Aim: This study assessed the predictive value of pericarotid fat density (PFD) on carotid computed tomography angiography (CTA) for recurrent ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA).
Methods: In total, 739 patients who underwent CTA between January 2014 and December 2021 were retrospectively included in this study. The PFD was evaluated using carotid CTA.
Objectives: Develop risk-adapted conditional biopsy pathways utilizing MRI in combination with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) density (PSAD) and the ratio of free to total PSA (f/tPSA), respectively, to enhance the detection of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) while minimizing 'negative' biopsies in low-risk patients.
Methods: The Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) category, PSAD, f/tPSA and biopsy-pathology of 1018 patients were collected retrospectively. Subsequently, PSAD and f/tPSA were divided into four intervals, which were then combined with the MRI findings to construct two risk stratification matrix tables.
Background: Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) accumulation is thought to play a role in the pathophysiology of heart failure (HF) with mid-range ejection fraction and HF with preserved ejection fraction, but its effect on outcome is unknown.

EAT volume and extracellular volume were calculated using cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
Background: Previous studies explored MRI-based radiomic features for differentiating between human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-zero, HER2-low, and HER2-positive breast cancer, but deep learning's effectiveness is uncertain.
Purpose: This study aims to develop and validate a deep learning system using dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) for automated tumor segmentation and classification of HER2-zero, HER2-low, and HER2-positive statuses.
Study Type: Retrospective.
Inflammation is a leading biological risk factor contributing to unfavorable outcomes of major depressive disorder (MDD). Both inflammation and depression are associated with similar alterations in brain structure, indicating that brain structural alterations could serve as a mediating factor in the adverse influence of inflammation on clinical outcomes in MDD. Nonetheless, longitudinal research has yet to confirm this hypothesis.

Materials And Methods: The clinical and imaging data of 100 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) who underwent CCTA and subsequently received successful CABG between December 2012 and March 2024 were retrospectively collected. According to the subsequent CCTA evaluation of grafts, they were categorized into occlusion group (n = 27) and patency group (n = 73).
Rationale And Objectives: The aim of the present retrospective study was to evaluate the prognostic role of the extracellular volume fraction (ECV) in patients with myocardial infarction (MI) and myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA). The present study hypothesized that ECV is associated with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in MI and MINOCA patients.
Materials And Methods: Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging was performed on 351 consecutive patients (mean age: 58 ± 12 years; 252 [71.
Background: N, N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET) is the predominant active ingredient found in insect repellents utilized by consumers. Exposure to DEET has been associated with notable risks to human health. Nonetheless, there is a scarcity of extensive cohort studies investigating the precise correlation between DEET exposure and mortality rates among cancer survivors.

First, a veneer defect image is subjected to Gamma correction to obtain multiple underexposed image sequences for which Gaussian and Laplacian pyramids are constructed to determine the weights of the multiple exposure sequence group images.

In this paper, we utilize angular measurement and homogenization characteristics of non-imaging microlens array (NI-MLA) systems, effectively reducing the distortion degree of the spots received on the QD target surface, thereby significantly enhancing the spot detection accuracy of the QD. First, based on the principles of geometric optics and Fourier optics, it is proved that the NI-MLA system possesses the angular measurement characteristic (AMC) within the paraxial region while deriving and verifying the focal length of the system.

Decoupling systems into independently evolving components has a long history of simplifying seemingly complex systems. They enable a better understanding of the underlying dynamics and causal structures while providing more efficient means to simulate such processes on a computer. Here we outline a variational decoupling algorithm for decoupling unitary quantum dynamics-allowing us to decompose a given n-qubit unitary gate into multiple independently evolving sub-components.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIons of mercury, one of the most hazardous heavy metals in nature, pose serious risks to the environment and human health. Blue sulfur-doped carbon dots (SCDs) from corn stalks were utilized as material. The SCDs were incorporated into a carboxylated hydrogel modified with sulfur, and a compound gel (SCDs-KTOCS gel) was successfully fabricated for simultaneous fluorescence detection and Hg(II) adsorption.

Methods: In this study, we retrospectively collected MPCT images from 138 patients between April 2017 and June 2023 across two centers. Cohort 1 comprised 94 patients divided into a training cohort and an internal validation cohort, while the 44 patients from Cohort 2 constituted the external validation cohort.
Objectives: The prognostic value of left ventricular (LV) papillary muscle anomalies in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) patients is unclear. The objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic significance of LV papillary muscle anomalies in DCM patients using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR).
Methods: 369 DCM patients who underwent CMR at two Chinese medical facilities from January 2019 to June 2023 were retrospectively and consecutively included in total.
Purpose: To investigate the application value of support vector machine (SVM) model based on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) and amide proton transfer- weighted (APTW) imaging in predicting isocitrate dehydrogenase 1(IDH-1) mutation and Ki-67 expression in glioma.
Methods: The DWI, DCE and APTW images of 309 patients with glioma confirmed by pathology were retrospectively analyzed and divided into the IDH-1 group (IDH-1(+) group and IDH-1(-) group) and Ki-67 group (low expression group (Ki-67 ≤ 10%) and high expression group (Ki-67 > 10%)). All cases were divided into the training set, and validation set according to the ratio of 7:3.
Background: Proliferative hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) is a class of aggressive tumors with poor prognosis. We aimed to construct a computed tomography (CT)-based radiomics nomogram to predict proliferative HCC, stratify clinical outcomes and explore the tumor microenvironment.
Methods: Patients with pathologically diagnosed HCC following a hepatectomy were retrospectively collected from two medical centers.
