Procollagen C-proteinase enhancer protein (PCOLCE) was originally identified as an enhancer to facilitate the catalysis of procollagens by BMP1. PCOLCE participates in the reconstitution of extracellular and corneal repair. The elevation of PCOLCE in blood indicates that breast cancer has metastasized into the bones.

Multiple regression methods are used to compute the relationship between spectral vectors and ingredient contents. In this paper, an autonomous feature extraction method by using attention based residual network (ABRN) to model original NIRS vectors is introduced.

Silver nanowires (Ag NWs) are key materials to fabricate next-generation flexible transparent electrodes (FTEs). Currently, the applications of Ag NWs are impeded by the large wire-wire contact resistance. Herein, a self-limited nanosoldering method is proposed to reduce the contact resistance by epitaxially depositing silver nanosolders at the Ag NW junctions, which have a negligible effect on the optical transparency, while decreasing the sheet resistance of the Ag NW film from 18.

Here, we used epicPCR (Emulsion, Paired Isolation, and Concatenation PCR) technology to identify the phylogeny of sulfate-reducing prokaryotes (SRP) in sediments from Tibetan Plateau saline lakes. A total of 12,519 OTUs and 883 SRP-OTUs were detected in ten lakes by sequencing of 16S rRNA gene PCR amplicons and epicPCR products of fused 16S rRNA plus dsrB gene, respectively, with Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Bacteroidetes being the dominant phyla in both datasets.

The rice water weevil Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus Kuschel (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is a worldwide agricultural pest that causes serious damage to rice. The olfactory and gustatory behaviors of L. oryzophilus in locating host plants and oviposition sites mostly rely on the detection of chemical stimuli in the environment.

Studies of preimplantation development currently rely on ex vivo experiments with the embryos cultured outside of the oviduct, neglecting the native environment for embryonic growth. This prevents the understanding of the natural process of preimplantation development and the roles of the oviduct in early embryonic health.

Methods And Results: Twenty-two-month-old male SD rats were treated with 6-gingerol (0.2 mg kg , once daily) for 7 weeks.
The SUR2B/Kir6.1 channel openers iptakalim and natakalim reverse cardiac remodeling and ameliorate endothelial dysfunction by re-establishing the balance between the nitric oxide and endothelin systems. In this study, we investigated the microRNAs (miRs) involved in the molecular mechanisms of SUR2B/Kir6.

TOMM40 plays an important role in maintaining normal mitochondrial function. The correlation between occupational thermal exposure and mitochondria dysfunction has been demonstrated; however, nothing is known about the alteration and role of TOMM40 in response to environmental heat stress.

We hypothesized that polymerase II polypeptide E () rs3787016 polymorphism, identified in a genome-wide association study of prostate cancer, might be a common genetic risk factor for cancer risk. To address this issue, we here conducted a case-control study to investigate the association of rs3787016 polymorphism with risk of liver and lung cancer (including 800 normal controls, 480 liver cancer patients, and 550 lung cancer patients), followed by a meta-analysis.

We aimed to investigate the differences between patients with valvular AF and patients with nonvalvular AF on safety and functional outcomes in acute large artery occlusion undergoing thrombectomy.
Methods: Valvular AF refers to patients with mitral stenosis or artificial heart valves and valve repair.
Background: Ex vivo, whole-mount explant culture of the rodent retina has proved to be a valuable approach for studying retinal development. In a limited number of recent studies, this method has been coupled to live fluorescent microscopy with the goal of directly observing dynamic cellular events. However, retinal tissue thickness imposes significant technical limitations.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAs two central issues of global climate change, the continuous increase of both atmospheric CO concentrations and global temperature has profound effects on various terrestrial ecosystems. Microbial communities play pivotal roles in these ecosystems by responding to environmental changes through regulation of soil biogeochemical processes. However, little is known about the effect of elevated CO (eCO) and global warming on soil microbial communities, especially in semiarid zones.

A model based on strong-field approximations is used which allows us to resolve the contributions of different emission routes to odd-even HHG. The comparison between the HHG yields of all routes versus one certain route demonstrates that the routes in which the electron ionizes from the gerade component of the asymmetric orbital contribute mainly to odd-even HHG.

Olfaction and gustation play critical roles in the daily activities of insects by mediating important behaviors, such as locating host plants, mates and oviposition sites. These behaviors are mediated by a series of chemosensory receptor proteins, including odorant receptors (ORs), gustatory receptors (GRs) and ionotropic receptors (IRs). Holotrichia parallela is a worldwide pest on many crops and particularly on peanuts in China.

In total, 60 child patients, who were admitted and treated in the Affiliated Children's Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from March 2015 to March 2017, during their asthma attacks, were selected as the observation group. The patients were divided into the high 25-(OH)D (n=28) and low 25-(OH)D (n=32) groups according to the median level of 25-(OH)D.
