Background: The reproductive ability of male giant pandas has been a major complicating factor in the conservation of the species. While it is well known that the testis produces sperm and secretes androgens, a process that requires precise regulation of various proteins, at present, there has been no systematic study on the composition of proteins in the testis of the giant pandas. Therefore, this study aims to apply proteomics to explore the regulation of proteins in the testes of giant pandas.

Such immune-related adverse events (IrAE) contribute to hospitalizations, cancer treatment interruption and even premature death. ICI-induced autoimmune diabetes mellitus (ICI-T1DM) is a life-threatening IrAE that presents with rapid pancreatic beta-islet cell destruction leading to hyperglycemia and life-long insulin dependence.

MicroRNAs were related to AAA formation, which bring the approach for precise and targeted drug therapy for AAA. We developed a new strategy based on decellularized adipose matrix (DAM) hydrogel immobilized on the adventitia to release antagomiR-150-5p for preventing the AAA development.

The clinical significance of ARCA-LCS lies in its potential to cause myocardial ischemia or sudden cardiac death, particularly under physical exertion. In this case, a patient experienced sudden cardiac arrest during sexual activity, which has not previously been reported.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAfter many years of mining in the Fang2 block of the Songfangtun oilfield, the conventional water drive development method can no longer meet the requirement of greatly improving the recovery rate, and ternary composite drive (TCD) technology is adopted for this purpose. TCD is one of the most important methods to further improve crude oil recovery, and it has entered the industrialization and promotion stage, but there are still problems of fouling in the injection and extraction system and high production and maintenance costs. In order to reduce formation damage and improve recovery in the Songfangtun oilfield, an alkali-free microemulsion system was developed by replacing the weak base sodium carbonate with sodium chloride, but its emulsification capacity was weak and the recovery enhancement value was lower than that of the weak base TCD.

Comparative analysis with pre-trained models such as LSTM and ARDL using Python showcases the proposed method's substantial reduction in prediction errors compared to singular reliance on electricity data, while also significantly reducing computational time in contrast to LSTM models. The findings establish a valuable reference for policymakers and researchers in refining carbon emission prediction methodologies and formulating effective carbon reduction policies.

Currently, the main strategies for treating DPN are strict glycemic control and symptomatic pain relief. In this editorial, we comment on an article by Li which suggested that modulating the gut microbiota using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may be a promising strategy for alleviating DPN symptoms.

Here, we developed a drug delivery system utilizing 293T cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) modified with an anti-CD7 single-chain variable fragment (αCD7/EVs). Given the challenges of chemotherapy resistance in patients with T-cell malignancy, we selected cytochrome C (CytC) and Bcl2 siRNA (siBcl2) as therapeutic agents and loaded them into αCD7/EVs (αCD7/EVs/CytC/siBcl2).

However, their low energy storage density and single energy storage performance (ESP) limit their further development and applicability in rugged environments. Here, through the design of vacancy defects and phase structure regulation, Pb-free (BiNa)TiO-based ceramics with an optimal composition can achieve a large maximum polarization (>44 µC cm) under a moderate electric field (410 kV cm), resulting in an extremely high recoverable energy storage density (≈6.

Due to the presence of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), most small molecule drugs are difficult to reach the brain, leading to undesirable therapeutic outcomes. Recently, nanomedicines that can cross the BBB and precisely target lesion sites have emerged as thrilling tools to enhance the early diagnosis and treat various intractable brain disorders.

However, the unstable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formed on anode copper current collector (CuCC) leads to poor reversibility of uneven lithium deposition/stripping. Though the well-known knowledge of lithium salt-derived inorganic-rich SEI (iSEI) benefiting uniform lithium deposition, how to design a lithium salt-philic CuCC with undiscovered salt-philic facet that favors lithium salt adsorption and catalyzing salt decomposition into iSEI, remains unexplored yet.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are playing an increasingly important role in the field of energy storage. However, their practical applications are handicapped by severe dendrite formation and side reactions on zinc anodes. Herein, a low-concentration high-entropy (HE) electrolyte strategy is proposed to achieve high reversibility and ultra-durable zinc metal anode.

The results of step-by-step experiments indicated that PK promoted the hydrolysis of biodegradable plastic by initiating self-hydrolysis reactions, directly promoting the hydrolysis step of anaerobic co-digestion. Subsequently, PK indirectly promoted the acidogenesis and acetogenesis steps by impacting the proliferation of acid-producing bacteria.

In this study, the effects of hydrostatic pressure (60, 100, 200 mbar) and pre-coating with aluminum-based flocs (ABF) on GDM flux and organic matter removal were investigated, and the regulatory mechanisms of the bio-cake layer were explored through interactions between morphological structure, composition and microbes. The results showed that the stable flux of the GDM-ABF system at a hydrostatic pressure of 60 mbar was almost equal to that at 100 mbar, and it outperformed higher hydrostatic pressure in organic matter removal, resulting in a more porous bio-cake layer structure.
