Purpose: Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) is closely associated with ferroptosis. Dexmedetomidine (Dex) has good therapeutic effects on MIRI. This study investigates whether dexmedetomidine (Dex) regulates ferroptosis during MIRI by affecting ferroportin1 (FPN) levels and elucidates the underlying mechanisms.

Reactions using readily available and bench-stable aryl fluorosulfates as effective and appealing arylating agents showed both good substrate scope and broad functionality tolerance. Important functional groups such as nitro, cyano, formyl, acetyl, methoxycarbonyl, trifluoromethoxy, fluoro, and chloro embedded in substrates remained intact during the course of the reaction, and could be subjected to downstream modification.

Terrestrial ecosystems were also suffered but the extent of life loss and timing of subsequent recovery remain equivocal, largely because of scarcity of fossil record. Here we report an exceptionally-preserved fossil assemblage, Yuzhou Biota, from the Sinemurian (~ 199-193 Ma), Early Jurassic lacustrine deposits of northern Chongqing, China.

In recent years, the rapid advancement of flexible conductive materials has significantly increased the demand for dough materials that offer high flexibility and conductivity for diverse applications. Here, we developed a flexible, stretchable, and self-healing dough utilizing hydrogen-bonding interactions between glutathione-stabilized copper nanoclusters (GSH-Cu NCs) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA). The dough materials can be kneaded, readily reshaped, and further processed to create bulk materials of arbitrary form factors.

The purpose of this work was to look into the effect of oxycodone in controlling lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced neuroinflammation in microglia.

However, their physiological immaturity, resembling CMs in the late fetal stage, limits their utility. Herein, we have developed a novel, scalable cell culture medium designed to enhance the maturation of hPSC-CMs.

Stimulating the proliferation of preexisting cardiomyocytes is a potential therapeutic strategy for cardiac damage. In a previous study, we identified 30 compounds that induced the bona-fide proliferation of human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CM).

Sevoflurane, the most commonly used inhaled anesthetic, has been shown to trigger neuroinflammation that promotes to POCD.
Objective: This study examined the pathological mechanism by which sevoflurane causes neuroinflammation, participating in POCD.
Heart failure remains a leading cause of mortality. Therapeutic intervention for heart failure would benefit from targeted delivery to the damaged heart tissue. Here, we applied in vivo peptide phage display coupled with high-throughput Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and identified peptides specifically targeting damaged cardiac tissue.

The aim of this study was to compare different sources of sEV for cardiac repair and determine the most effective one, which nowadays remains limited. We comprehensively assessed the efficacy of sEV obtained from human primary bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSC), human immortalized MSC (hTERT-MSC), human embryonic stem cells (ESC), ESC-derived cardiac progenitor cells (CPC), human ESC-derived cardiomyocytes (CM), and human primary ventricular cardiac fibroblasts (VCF), in in vitro models of cardiac repair.

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed patients with unresectable HCCA admitted to Linyi Cancer Hospital in Shandong Province from October 2019 to December 2021. All enrolled patients were treated with HAIC (mFOLFOX7) + camrelizumab for 2-6 cycles and administered systemic therapy with capecitabine and camrelizumab.
Background: Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) seriously threatens the health of people. The mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiomyocytes can promote the progression of MIRI. Dexmedetomidine (Dex) could alleviate the myocardial injury, which was known to reverse mitochondrial dysfunction in lung injury.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was made of 34 patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that had progressed after first-line treatment in Linyi Tumor Hospital from October 2019 to June 2021. These patients were divided into observation group (n = 15) and control group (n = 19) based on their treatment plans, who were respectively treated with regorafenib alone and regorafenib combined with DEB-TACE.
A reductive amidation of triazine esters with nitroarenes by using cheap iron as a reducing metal in the presence of TMSCl in DMF was developed. The reactions proceeded efficiently under transition metal-free conditions to give the corresponding amides in moderate to good yields with good functional group compatibility. Preliminary mechanistic investigations indicated that nitrosobenzene, -phenyl hydroxylamine, azoxybenzene, azobenzene, aniline, and -arylformamide possibly served as the intermediates of the reaction.

The ability to accurately measure the dynamics of EC generation would advance our understanding of cellular mechanisms of vascular homeostasis and diseases. However, it is currently challenging to evaluate the dynamics of EC generation in large vessels such as arteries because of their infrequent proliferation.

This paper shows that miR-708-3p is upregulated in gastric cancer samples and that a high miR-708-3p expression in gastric cancer patients is associated with poor overall survival.

Notch3-deficiency causes vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) loss in the vasculature but the consequences for the heart remain largely elusive. Here, we demonstrate that Notch3 mice have enlarged hearts with left ventricular hypertrophy and mild fibrosis.
