A variety of α-arylated sulfoxonium ylides could be facilely synthesized in modest to high yields through α-arylation of sulfoxonium ylides with aryl fluorosulfates C-O bond functionalization under palladium catalysis. Reactions using readily available and bench-stable aryl fluorosulfates as effective and appealing arylating agents showed both good substrate scope and broad functionality tolerance. Important functional groups such as nitro, cyano, formyl, acetyl, methoxycarbonyl, trifluoromethoxy, fluoro, and chloro embedded in substrates remained intact during the course of the reaction, and could be subjected to downstream modification.

In recent years, the rapid advancement of flexible conductive materials has significantly increased the demand for dough materials that offer high flexibility and conductivity for diverse applications. Here, we developed a flexible, stretchable, and self-healing dough utilizing hydrogen-bonding interactions between glutathione-stabilized copper nanoclusters (GSH-Cu NCs) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA). The dough materials can be kneaded, readily reshaped, and further processed to create bulk materials of arbitrary form factors.

A reductive amidation of triazine esters with nitroarenes by using cheap iron as a reducing metal in the presence of TMSCl in DMF was developed. The reactions proceeded efficiently under transition metal-free conditions to give the corresponding amides in moderate to good yields with good functional group compatibility. Preliminary mechanistic investigations indicated that nitrosobenzene, -phenyl hydroxylamine, azoxybenzene, azobenzene, aniline, and -arylformamide possibly served as the intermediates of the reaction.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, evolutionarily conserved, non-coding RNAs playing a role in the proliferation, metastasis, apoptosis, chemo-sensitivity, and chemo-resistance of gastric cancer, as well as the stemness of gastric cancer stem cells. miR-708-3p induces gastric cancer cell chemo-resistance, but its actual role in gastric cancer progression remains unclear. This paper shows that miR-708-3p is upregulated in gastric cancer samples and that a high miR-708-3p expression in gastric cancer patients is associated with poor overall survival.
