Background: The DL-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP), a multi-target neuroprotective drug, improving cognitive impairment in patient with vascular cognitive impairment has been confirmed. The efficacy of NBP in patients with cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains unknown. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of NBP in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to AD though a clinical randomized controlled trail.

Background: Fatty liver disease may be associated with increased risks of intrahepatic and extrahepatic cancers. Our objective was to investigate associations between new subcategories of steatotic liver disease (SLD) recently proposed by nomenclature consensus group and cancer risk.
Methods: A total of 283 238 participants from the UK Biobank were included.
Platinum resistance is a common cause of chemotherapy failure in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), which function by competitively binding to miRNAs, can influence drug response. However, the regulatory mechanisms of ceRNAs underlying chemoresistance in LUAD remain largely unknown.

However, precise and continuous size growth based on a preserved template has long been a challenging pursuit, yet little has been achieved in terms of manipulation at the atomic level. Here, a correlated silver cluster series has been established, enabling atomically precise manipulation of symmetrical and asymmetrical surface structure expansions of metal nanoclusters.

There is still a lack of methods for rapid optimization of water stemming components with high wettability. Herein, blasting dust was collected from a tunnel in Chongqing (China) to investigate its removal performance by different water stemmings.

In recent years, natural products have garnered significant attention for their potential in treating cardiovascular diseases due to their availability and lower toxicity. Saponins, in particular, showed promising effects for cardiac protection.

Cryo-EM studies highlight the importance of asymmetrical Rco1-Eaf3 dimers in nucleosome binding, yet the interaction dynamics with nucleosomal substrates alongside elongating Pol II are poorly understood. Here we demonstrate the essential function of the Rco1 N-terminal intrinsically disordered region (IDR) in modulating Pol II association, in which K/R mutations within the Rco1 IDR impair interaction of Rpd3S with the C-terminal domain (CTD) of Rpb1, without affecting nucleosome recognition or complex integrity.

Although progress occurs in the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of helicene (-like) molecules, the enantioselective synthesis of multiple helicenes, especially four or higher helicity, is still challenging and has yet to be achieved. Herein, we report an organocatalytic [4 + 2] cycloadditions to achieve double S-shaped quadruple helicene-like molecules with high enantioselectivity (up to 96% e.

Here, we disclose a hemicellulose trapping strategy to achieve exceptional ultrastrong and tough LM-based paper electronics. Holocellulose nanofibrils (HCNFs) with hemicellulose retention of approximately 20 % are found to effectively entrap nanoscale LM within the fibril network, analogous to spider silk capturing small water droplets.

Selective β-eliminative depolymerization and the bottom-up assembly were performed to unravel that FCS consisted of a {D-GlcA-β1,3-D-GalNAc} backbone and branches of alternating Fuc (55 %) and D-GalNAc-α1,2-L-Fuc (45 %), the highest proportion of disaccharide branch reported to date. In branches, sulfation could occur at every free -OH site except O-3 of GalNAc, being the most complex and various structure features of natural FCS.

Aims: The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a topical salicylic acid/piroctone olamine/zinc salt of L-pyrrolidone carboxylate (Zinc PCA) scalp pre-application gel in combination with a salicylic acid/piroctone olamine/antimicrobial peptide cleansing lotion for the treatment of moderate to severe scalp SD.
Patients/methods: In this prospective cohort study, 20 patients with moderate to severe scalp SD were treated with a combination of the scalp pre-application gel and cleansing lotion for 4 weeks (one tube of the pre-application gel per week and the cleansing lotion used every 1-3 days depending on the frequency of hair washing).

The active vitamin D-degrading enzyme (CYP24A1) is commonly overexpressed in various types of cancer, which is associated with poor prognosis in cancer patients. Recent studies highlight the antagonism of CYP24A1 toward the anticancer role of active vitamin D. However, the impact of CYP24A1 on tumorigenesis and its underlying mechanisms largely remains unexplored.
