A case of lung adenocarcinoma with a concurrent EGFR mutation and ALK rearrangement: A case report and literature review.

The echinoderm microtubule associated protein like 4‑anaplastic lymphoma kinase (EML4‑ALK) fusion is almost mutually exclusive to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) or K‑RAS mutation in non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and it is extremely rare for patients to exhibit both mutations. The present study reported the case of a 71-year‑old female diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, exhibiting mutations in EGFR and EML4‑ALK. The present study treated this patient with EGFR‑TK inhibitors, as the first line therapy, and gefitinib therapy revealed a good response until now.

A national assessment of the epidemiology of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome, China.

First discovered in rural areas of middle-eastern China in 2009, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick-borne zoonosis affecting hundreds of cases reported in China each year. Using the national surveillance data from 2010 to 2013, we conducted this retrospective epidemiological study and risk assessment of SFTS in China. We found that the incidence of SFTS and its epidemic areas are continuing to grow, but the case fatality rate (CFR) has steadily decreased.

Cyanidin-3-O-glucoside (C3G), an anthocyanin belonging to the flavonoid family and commonly present in food and vegetables in human diet, has exhibited anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects. This study aimed to investigate the protective ability of C3G against inflammatory and oxidative injuries, as well as to clarify the possible mechanism in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) in vitro and acute respiratory distress syndrome mouse model in vivo. HUVECs or male Kunming mice were pretreated with C3G 1 h before LPS stimulation.
