In omnivorous fish, the pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases (PDKs)-pyruvate dehydrogenase E1α subunit (PDHE1α) axis is essential in the regulation of carbohydrate oxidative catabolism. Among the existing research, the role of the PDKs-PDHE1α axis in carnivorous fish with poor glucose utilization is unclear. In the present study, we determined the effects of PDK inhibition on the liver glycolipid metabolism of largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides).

Currently, the role of dietary docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in improving fish liver health is largely unknown. This study investigated the role of DHA supplementation in fat deposition and liver damage caused by D-galactosamine (D-GalN) and lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

However, the role of HSL-mediated lipolysis in systemic nutrient homoeostasis has not been intensively understood. Therefore, we used CRISPR/Cas9 technique and Hsl inhibitor (HSL-IN-1) to establish -deficient () and Hsl-inhibited zebrafish models, respectively.

Here, we investigated the histone acetylation modifications of GADs in the pathogenesis of epilepsy and explored the therapeutic effect of a novel second-generation histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi) JNJ-26481585 in epilepsy animals. We revealed the suppression of GADs protein and mRNA level, and histone hypoacetylation in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy and pilocarpine-induced epilepsy mice model.

The sonochemical synthesis of silver nanorods has been achieved by ultrasonic irradiation of the aqueous solution of silver nitrate, methenamine (HMTA) and poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) for 60 min. The silver nanorods obtained have lengths of 4-7 microm and mean diameters of about 100 nm. The structures of the samples were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and the chemical composition of the sample was examined by energy-dispersive X-ray spectrum (EDS).

Objective: To study the effects of Bushen Yin' ao Tablet (BSYNT) on physiology and cerebral gene expression in senescence-accelerated mice (SAM).
Methods: The change of cerebral tissues mRNA expression in SAM was analyzed and compared by messenger ribonucleic acids reverse transcription differential display polymerase chain reaction (mRNA DDRT-PCR) between the medicated group and the control group.
Results: BSYNT could increase the level of hemoglobin (Hb) and amount of erythrocyte (RBC) of blood deficiency mice, improve the spatial learning and memory function and the escape response by conditional stimulus.
A kind of remote monitoring system on heart sound is constructed, which can tele-monitor ECG and PCG. The system integrates embedded internet technology and wireless technology. As it can send ECG and PCG by internet, it realizes real-time recording and monitoring of physiology parameter of patients at low cost and both at home and in hospital, and it also can be used for analysis for computer or reference for doctor.

Objective: To explore multi-drug resistance (MDR) of bladder cancer for the intravesical instillation.
Methods: Using immunohistochemical staining, in 44-case human bladder cancer cells, the expressions of P-glycoprotein (P-gp), glutathione S-transferase (GST-pi) and topoisomerase (TOPO-II), were detected to find out the resistance to drugs.
Results: P-gp had a higher expression in 54.
