Upper limb spasticity is a common and serious sequelae in patients with hemiplegia after stroke. Radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy (rESWT) can improve upper limb dysfunction and relieve pain in patients, However, its efficacy as a single treatment is limited. In traditional Chinese medicine, Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) is the main pharmacological component of Ligusticum chuanxiong.

In addition to X chromosome inactivation abnormalities, Estrogen and estrogen receptors may lead to the sex differences in AITD. Estrogen, estrogen receptors and estrogen receptor-mediated signaling pathways can affect the number and function of immune cells and the function of the thyroid to promote the development of AITD.

Through processes such as transfer, decarboxylation, and fixation, it contributes to plant growth and adaptation to abiotic and biotic stresses. However, the mechanism by which KCS genes participate in the response of tomato plants to driught remains unclear.

This study aimed to assess if T2D remission can be achieved using low-calorie formula diet (LCFD) and low-calorie real food-based diet (LCRFD) in Chinese similarly to other populations and to identify determinants of individual variability in T2D remission.
Methods: This 6-month intervention consisted of a 3-month isocaloric intensive weight loss phase (815-835 kcal/d) and a 3-month weight maintenance phase.

Discriminative sensing for mixture by either fluorescent sensor or other sensors remains a challenge. This issue is attributed to the absence of a separation unit prior to the sensor. Here, we report a new sensing medium, named porous fluorescent monolith, which can separate mixture and meanwhile be integrated into a sensor for discriminative detection.

We demonstrate significant second harmonic generation (SHG) and sum frequency generation (SFG) on a thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) platform by loading a silicon nitride (SiN) microring resonator, which avoids the dry etching of lithium niobate. By optimizing SiN-loaded TFLN waveguide geometry, the phase-matching conditions between the fundamental pump laser and the SHG/SFG signals are designed. Combining with enhancement by the microring resonator, remarkable SHG and SFG signals with conversion efficiencies of 16.

An increasing number of studies indicate that MIC is associated with coronary heart disease (CHD). However, it remains unclear whether MIC contributes to cardiac function impairment in patients with CHD.

Though the mechanism of action of SmMYB36 on the tanshinone and phenolic acid biosynthesis is well understood, its regulation through post-translational modifications is unclear. A constitutive photomorphogenesis 9 (COP9) signalosome subunit 5 (SmCSN5), which interacted with SmMYB36 and inhibited its ubiquitination-based degradation, was identified in .

EBV-induced expression of viral antigens by tumor cells triggers immune recognition and elicits a pro-inflammatory response. While mild inflammation may help eliminate malignant cells, intense inflammation can accelerate tumor progression.

This retrospective study included patients with primary SNCs who accepted eye-sparing treatment from October 2000 to June 2022 at a single institution. Patients' clinical information and follow-up data (including visual data) were obtained.

Aseptic inflammation and pyroptosis of podocytes are crucial factors contributing to the pathogenesis and progression of DKD. Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i), a novel class of antidiabetic agents widely used in clinical settings, may exert a protective effect on podocyte injury, although the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Clinical data have shown that unexplained high-frequency (above 3 kHz) hearing loss often occurs after myringoplasty. In this paper, a finite element (FE) model of the partial external and middle ear (ME) of the human ear, which considers the actual perforation and TM implants, is developed to reveal the mechanical mechanism of high-frequency hearing loss after implantation of temporalis fascia and cartilage commonly used in myringoplasty.

Background: In recent years, headache diseases have spread throughout the world, causing great suffering and even severe disability to patients, and increasing the burden on health care systems. However, studies of specific regions are rare. The purpose of our study is to comprehensively analyze the current situation and trends of headache diseases in Asia between 1990 and 2021, to provide details of headache diseases in Asia, and to provide scientific data to support health development strategies.

In this study, we investigated the role of both Ig heavy chain (IGH) and Ig kappa light chain (IGK) gene rearrangements detected in ctDNA samples in predicting DLBCL progression.
Methods: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) was used to identify the dominant V(D)J clonotypic rearrangement in tissue samples of 33 DLBCL patients.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a Gram-positive bacillus that causes tuberculosis and is a leading cause of mortality worldwide. This disease is a growing health threat due to the occurrence of multidrug resistance. Mycolic acids are essential for generating cell walls and their modification is important to the virulence and persistence of M.

Thus far, these textures have primarily been reported in oxide-ferroelectric-based epitaxial heterostructures because their stabilization requires an elastic energy penalty from the epitaxial strains. Here, without the epitaxial-strain engineering, we discover polar skyrmion bubbles in stand-alone van der Waals ferroelectric CuInPS crystal through the combination of piezoelectric force microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and phase-field simulations.

Herein, we develop a π-conjugated polymer-based amplification (POSA) method to achieve highly multiplexed signal amplification. Optical amplification by virtue of the high brightness of FCPs makes POSA a simple and quick signal amplification technique that can spatially resolve the distribution of multiplexed proteins in single cells, with a 28- to 126-fold signal amplification effect.
