Downregulation of adiponectin (APN) multimerization is significantly correlated with the aggravation of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Resveratrol (RSV) upregulates APN multimerization in adipocytes, but whether RSV improves endogenous APN multimerization and thus attenuates MI/R injury in T2DM mice has never been investigated. T2DM mice were treated with 10 mg/kg RSV daily for 3 weeks, followed by 30 minutes of myocardial ischemia and 3 hours or 24 hours of reperfusion.

Objectives: The present study aimed to investigate the difference in major adverse cardiac events (MACE) at 3 years after double-kissing (DK) crush versus culotte stenting for unprotected left main distal bifurcation lesions (LMDBLs).

Background: The multicenter and randomized DKCRUSH-III (Comparison of double kissing crush versus culotte stenting for unprotected distal left main bifurcation lesions: results from a multicenter, randomized, prospective study) showed that DK crush stenting was associated with fewer MACE at 1-year follow-up in patients with LMDBLs compared with culotte stenting. Here, we report the 3-year clinical outcome of the DKCRUSH-III study.

Cyclic stretch (CS) mediates different cellular functions in vascular smooth muscle cells and involves in neointimal hyperplasia and subsequent atherosclerosis of vein grafts. Here, we investigated whether CS can modulate stromal cell-derived factor-1alpha (SDF-1alpha)/CXCR4 axis in human saphenous vein smooth muscle cells. We found CS induced the upregulation of SDF-1alpha and CXCR4 in human saphenous vein smooth muscle cells in vitro, which was dependent on PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway.

To shorten operation time and improve survival rate of rats with myocardial ischemia or myocardial infarction, we use a novel device comprised of a face mask and a head/neck retainer in this study. We report the basic design of the novel respiratory face mask (RFM) and evaluate its performance in a rat model of myocardial ischemia. The device is cost-effective and easier to handle than other devices, such as tracheal intubation.
