This manuscript reports a rare case of CUX1::NUTM1-positive B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) in a 25-year-old female patient who experienced early relapse and a poor clinical outcome. Given the rarity of NUTM1 fusion-positive B-ALL in adults, this case contributes to the growing evidence that such cases may present with a more aggressive clinical course compared to the pediatric population. Our findings suggest the need for a re-evaluation of therapeutic strategies in adult patients with this subtype of B-ALL.

, a valuable traditional edible and medicinal resource, is recognized for its potential in slowing aging but has not been effectively exploited. This study aimed to explore antiaging activity and mechanisms of extracts (CCe). We used liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry to identify 23 CCe compounds and focused on quantifying six nucleoside components as quality markers.

Aqueous proton batteries are attracting increasing attention in the large-scale next-generation energy storage field. However, the electrode materials for proton batteries often suffer from low specific capacity and unsatisfactory cycle durability. Herein, we synthesize two highly crystalline and robust polyimide covalent organic frameworks (COFs) through a solvent-free flux synthesis approach with benzoic acid as a flux and catalyst.

Article Synopsis
  • FGFR is a vital receptor involved in growth and tissue repair, but its gene mutations can lead to cancer by disrupting essential processes.
  • Small molecule drugs and antibodies targeting FGFR mutations, like erdafitinib and pemigatinib, have shown clinical efficacy in treating certain cancer types.
  • Effective screening methods for FGFR variants are essential for utilizing FGFR inhibitors in treatment, and a consensus has been developed to standardize diagnosis and treatment processes.

Color is critical factor in the commercialization of Matcha. In this study, sensory evaluation, color difference analysis, as well as targeted and non-targeted analyses were employed to investigate the impact of different drying temperature settings on the color characteristics of Tencha. The findings revealed that compared to a single drying temperature setting, a two-stage or multi-stage drying process more effectively preserved the color quality of Tencha.

Article Synopsis
  • Astringent seeds from Chinese fir are recognized as abortive seeds, with unclear causes, prompting a study on their potential to reduce aluminum ion toxicity.
  • The study treated seeds and seedlings with low and high concentrations of astringent seed water extracts under aluminum stress, finding that low concentration extract significantly improved seed germination and seedling growth.
  • Results showed a 36.95% increase in root elongation and reduced aluminum accumulation at root tips, while high concentrations failed to provide similar benefits, suggesting a potential environmental advantage for seeds in proximity to astringent seeds.

Background: Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common type of lung cancer, accounting for approximately 40% of all lung cancer cases, and has the highest incidence among lung cancer subtypes. Recent studies have suggested that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a crucial role in the initiation and progression of lung adenocarcinoma.

Methods: Based on integrative analysis through databases, we screened Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 00839 (LINC00839) as one of the most highly upregulated lncRNAs in lung adenocarcinoma.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer type and the second highest mortality rate among cancers. However, the mechanisms underlying CRC progression remain to be fully understood. In this work, a recently identified mA-modified RNA reader protein Proline-rich Coiled-coil 2a (PRRC2A) is markedly upregulated in CRC, and intestinal epithelium-specific deletion of Prrc2a significantly suppressed tumor cell growth, stemness, and migratory capacity, while its overexpression promoted these behaviors.

Intracranial haemorrhage (ICH) is an urgent and potentially fatal medical condition caused by brain blood vessel rupture, leading to blood accumulation in the brain tissue. Due to the pressure and damage it causes to brain tissue, ICH results in severe neurological impairment or even death. Recently, deep neural networks have been widely applied to enhance the speed and precision of ICH detection yet they are still challenged by small or subtle hemorrhages.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers analyzed lesional skin in CD model mice using advanced techniques, revealing a significant increase in sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) and identifying 136 altered compounds mainly linked to sphingolipid metabolism.
  • * The study found that S1P promotes chronic pain and itch through the TRPV4 channel, suggesting that targeting S1P synthesis or its pathways could lead to effective treatments for CD symptoms.

Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) has a high incidence and mortality rate among cerebrovascular diseases, and effective treatments are lacking. Sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 3 (S1PR3) is associated with secondary immune inflammatory injury following ICH. However, its relationship with neuronal apoptosis and the specific underlying mechanism are not clear.

Background: In advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the triple combination therapy of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) with lenvatinib and programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors has shown promise as a front-line treatment. This study aimed to explore the tumor microenvironment (TME) characteristics of the population benefiting most from this treatment.

Methods: The study included 44 patients, with 38 ultimately receiving the HAIC + FOLFOX + lenvatinib + PD-1 inhibitor treatment.

As one of the major geological disasters in southeastern China, typhoon-induced vegetation slope instability causes significant loss of life and property each year. Despite the criticality of this issue, the response mechanism of vegetated slopes to wind loading in terms of soil deformation and stability still remains unclear. This research conducted field investigations on 330 historical landslides in Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province, analyzing their spatiotemporal distribution and developmental characteristics to establish a conceptual model.

Photothermal catalysis is a promising strategy to combine the advantages of both thermal-catalysis and photocatalysis. Herein we achieve the protolignin conversion to aromatics via the photothermal catalytic transfer hydrogenolysis process intensified by the in-situ protection strategy. The Pd/TiO at 140 °C with UV irradiation can catalyze the reforming of primary alcohols to aldehydes and active H* species, which further participate in the acetalation protection of the 1,3-diol group of β-O-4 linkage and mediate the hydrogenolysis of C-OAr bonds, respectively.

Clearance of residual Host Cell Proteins (HCPs) is critical for the manufacturing processes of biotherapeutics. HCPs have the potential to impact product efficacy and quality, posing a risk to patient safety. It is therefore essential to be able to both identify and quantitate HCPs throughout drug development, even if the proteins are present in low concentrations.
