Winter barley (Hordeum vulgare) production areas in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are severely threatened by barley yellow mosaic disease, which is caused by Barley yellow mosaic virus and Barley mild mosaic virus. Improving barley disease resistance in breeding programs requires knowledge of genetic loci in germplasm resources. In this study, bulked segregant analysis (BSA) identified a novel major quantitative trait loci (QTL) QRym.

Here, we reported that protein tyrosine phosphatase H1 (PTPH1) is a scaffold protein for receptor tyrosine kinase (HER2) to potentiate breast tumorigenesis. PTPH1 utilizes its PDZ domain to bind HER2, p38γ, PBK, and YAP1 and to increase HER2 nuclear translocation, stemness, and oncogenesis.

Cannulae have been postulated to act as a primitive extracellular matrix through which cells could communicate or exchange material, although their native biological function remains obscure. Here, we report cryoEM structural analyses of cannulae and of protein assemblies derived from recombinant cannula-like proteins.

Glandular trichomes are particularly significant as they serve as sites for the synthesis and secretion of secondary metabolites, while non-glandular trichomes are pivotal for determining the appearance quality of cucumbers. However, current methods for separating trichomes encounter challenges such as low efficiency and insufficient accuracy, limiting their applicability in multi-omics sequencing studies.

When plants are exposed to salt stress, they suffer a sequence of damage mainly caused by osmotic stress, ion toxicity, and subsequently oxidative stress. As sessile organisms, plants have developed many physiological and biochemical strategies to mitigate the impact of salt stress.

However, molecular cytogenetic studies in alfalfa lag far behind other cash crops and have reached a bottleneck. Here, we developed a novel chromosome identification system by designing 21 oligo probes in specific regions of each chromosome, which can be used as a barcode to simultaneously distinguish all chromosomes in a cell.

We built and evaluated an electronic health record (EHR)-integrated, standards-based application that enables blood-bank clinicians to match platelet inventory with patients using data previously not available at the point-of-care, like human leukocyte antigen (HLA) data for donors and recipients.
Materials And Methods: The web-based application launches as an EHR-embedded application or as a standalone application.

Furthermore, it is an emerging synthetic biology chassis with the potential to be modified into diagnostic or therapeutic engineered probiotics. However, the absence of biological components limits its further applications.

Hydroxy radical (•OH) is a prestigious oxidant that allows the cleavage of strong chemical bonds of methane but is untamed, leading to over-oxidation of methane and waste of oxidants, especially at high methane conversion. Here, we managed to buffer •OH in an aqueous solution of photo-irradiated Fe3+, where •OH almost participates in methane oxidation. Due to the interaction between Fe3+ and SO42-, the electron transfer from OH- to excited-state Fe3+ for •OH generation is retarded, while excessive •OH is consumed by generated Fe2+ to restore Fe3+.

Therefore, the detection of DNA MTase activity is a vital target and direction in the study of methylation-related diseases.
Results: In this study, an ultrasensitive and robust strategy was developed for DNA MTase activity sensing based on bifunctional probe propelling multipath strand displacement amplification and CRISPR/Cas12a techniques.
Background: T cell senescence affects non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by compromising the anti-tumor immune response. However, the prognostic significance of T cell senescence-related genes in NSCLC remains unclear.
Methods: The scRNA-seq data from normal lung and NSCLC tissues, along with co-incubation experiments involving NSCLC cells and T cells, were utilized to identify T cell senescence characteristics.
Background: Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is often accompanied by anxiety and depression, seriously affecting the prognosis of patients. Active non-pharmacological therapies are the mainstay of treatment, but the optimal choice is still contentious.
Methods: We did a network meta-analysis(NMA) of RCTs and compared 7 community-based non-pharmacological interventions based on 29 studies.
In order to make the drugs can cure the tumor precisely, this paper establishes the tumor immune dynamic model through the differential equation of tumor growth and analyzes the persistence of the tumor immune model. Research on dual anticancer drugs and commonly used coupling methods is carried out to complete the synthesis of polyethylene glycol dual anticancer drug couplers and the antitumor activity is analyzed to derive the degree of inhibition of polyethylene glycol dual anticancer drugs on tumor activity. From the four judging criteria, it was concluded that the polyethylene glycol bis-anti-cancer drug has a better curative effect on tumor cells.

Targeted degradation of pathogenic microorganisms through autophagy, in conjunction with pattern recognition receptors synergistically inducing the production of interferon (IFN), constitutes an important pathway for the body to resist viral infections. Rubicon, a Run domain Beclin 1-interacting and cysteine-rich domain protein, has an inhibitory effect on autophagy and IFN production.

Methods: Four Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP, Sinomed) and five English databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL) were searched from the establishment of the database to April 2024. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was performed on the response rate to the improvement of chemotherapy induced delayed nausea and vomiting, as well as improvement in KPS score, under different non-pharmacological interventions by using R 4.

Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) is gaining popularity in cancer detection studies because it offers a non-invasive and rapid approach. Label-free SERS detection techniques often needs machine learning, which depends on adequate data for training. The scarcity of blood serum samples from cancer patients, due to challenges in collection linked to confidentiality concerns and other restrictions, can result in model overfitting and poor generalization ability.

Background: Sarcopenia is a condition characterized by inadequate muscle and function decline and is often associated with ageing and cancer. It is established that sarcopenia and muscle loss occurred during treatment are associated with the clinical outcomes of patients with cancer. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the association between sarcopenia at pretreatment and during treatment and overall survival or disease progression in patients with cervical cancer.

During the interaction process of a manipulator executing a grasping task, to ensure no damage to the object, accurate force and position control of the manipulator's end-effector must be concurrently implemented. To address the computationally intensive nature of current hybrid force/position control methods, a variable-parameter impedance control method for manipulators, utilizing a gradient descent method and Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN), is proposed. This method employs a position-based impedance control structure that integrates iterative learning control principles with a gradient descent method to dynamically adjust impedance parameters.
