The accumulation of excessive nitrogen, phosphorus, and other nutrients in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs has greatly accelerated eutrophication, which has led to the frequent outbreaks of algal blooms and brought great ecological risks to the related aquatic ecosystems. Evaluations on the eutrophic status of water bodies and estimations of water environment capacity are not only crucial for comprehensive assessment of eutrophic status but also indispensable references for comprehensive management of the aquatic ecosystems. In this study, major environmental variables (chemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus) of Yankou Reservoir watershed were monitored monthly from May 2020 to March 2022 and based upon the determined results, the comprehensive eutrophic conditions and water environment capacity were evaluated and estimated.

Methods: Two hundred and twelve patients with pathologically confirmed colorectal cancer were divided into a training set (n = 148) and a validation set (n = 64). Radiomics features from the most recent CT scans and clinical data obtained before surgery were extracted.
Metrnl is a secreted protein involved in neurite outgrowth, insulin sensitivity, immunoinflammatory responses, blood lipids and endothelial protection. In this study, we investigated the role of Metrnl in ischemic stroke. Fifty-eight ischemic stroke patients (28 inpatient patients within 2 weeks of onset and 30 emergency patients within 24 h of onset) and 20 healthy controls were enrolled.

However, building up a real quantum computer system not only relies on the theory of universality, but also needs methods to satisfy requirements on other features, such as programmability, modularity, scalability, etc. To this end, here we study the recently proposed model of quantum von Neumann architecture by putting it in a practical and broader setting, namely, the hierarchical design of a computer system.

Ethyl caffeate is a plant polyphenol that has been reported to have neuroprotective effects, but the mechanisms by which it acts are unclear. In this study, for the first time, we investigated the molecular mechanism of its anti-AD properties using the Caernorhabditis elegans model.

Existing networks are typically trained with experimental data gathered from the quantum state that needs to be characterized. But is it possible to train a neural network offline, on a different set of states? Here we introduce a network that can be trained with classically simulated data from a fiducial set of states and measurements, and can later be used to characterize quantum states that share structural similarities with the fiducial states.

Methods: NMN and NAD levels were determined using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry in biological samples from mice with or without middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) at different time points post intravenous NMN injection (300 mg/kg). Brain infarction was evaluated 24 h post-MCAO.
Our previous study has revealed that malonyl-ginsenosides from (PG-MGR) play a crucial role in the treatment of T2DM. However, its potential mechanism was still unclear. In this study, we investigated the anti-diabetic mechanisms of action of PG-MGR in high fat diet-fed (HFD) and streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice and determined the main constituents of PG-MGR responsible for its anti-diabetic effects.

In this study, a porous cyclodextrin polymer (P-CDP) was prepared using a rigid crosslinking agent, and the structure of the P-CDP was characterized by FT-IR, XPS, SEM, BET, and other technologies. The P-CDP was studied using isothermal adsorption and kinetic adsorption experiments.

According to the respective advantages and disadvantages of the particle swarm algorithm and the wolf swarm algorithm, the two algorithms are mixed to realize the complementary advantages of the algorithms. At the same time, the hybrid algorithm is used in the search of model hyperparameter optimization, the loss function of the model is used as the fitness function, and the collaborative search ability of the swarm intelligence population is used to find the global optimal solution in multiple local solution spaces.

The characteristics and risks of sediment nutrients and heavy metal pollution in these six subareas were investigated. The results showed that the average (TN), (TP), and (TOC) were 1841 mg·kg, 769 mg·kg, and 1.

To evaluate the semen microbiota in patients with leukocytospermia, 87 seminal fluid samples, including 33 samples with a normal seminal leukocyte count and 54 samples with leukocytospermia, were obtained for a cross-sectional analysis. Twenty samples with a normal seminal leukocyte count had normal sperm parameters (Control group), and 13 samples with a normal seminal leukocyte count were from asthenozoospermia patients (Ast group).

However, PIVKA-II and AFP have unsatisfactory specificity and sensitivity in the diagnosis of early-stage HBV-related HCC. Gamma-glutamyltransferase (γ-GT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) are common biomarkers for evaluating liver function, and we hypothesized that the γ-GT/AST ratio in combination with PIVKA-II and AFP would improve the diagnosis of early-stage HBV-related HCC.

Cadmium (Cd) re-mobilize by phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) from immobilization contaminated soil has drawn great attention due to its serious threat to human health through food chain. However, Cd binding with weathered coal (WC), an effective Cd immobilization material, will be re-mobilized by PSB or not is still unclear. In this study, the soil and sand pots with Cd were respectively mixed with the weight fractions of 0‰, 2‰, and 3‰ WC, inoculated with or without PSB, and planted with Amaranthus mangostanus L.
