Article Synopsis
  • Curcumin, a valuable natural product, faces challenges like low solubility and poor bioavailability, limiting its use as a functional food.
  • The study introduces an oleanolic acid-curcumin (OLA-Cur) nano-slow-release system that enhances the water solubility and stability of both compounds, useful for treating osteoarthritis in mice.
  • OLA-Cur nanoparticles effectively reduce inflammatory cytokines and improve cartilage health in osteoarthritis models, indicating potential for overcoming limitations of natural compounds in functional foods.
