Research on Rapid and Low-Cost Spectral Device for the Estimation of the Quality Attributes of Tea Tree Leaves.

Tea polyphenols, amino acids, soluble sugars, and other ingredients in fresh tea leaves are the key parameters of tea quality. In this research, a tea leaf ingredient estimation sensor was developed based on a multi-channel spectral sensor. The experiment showed that the device could effectively acquire 700-1000 nm spectral data of tea tree leaves and could display the ingredients of leaf samples in real time through the visual interactive interface.

Harvest of Costal Cartilage Through Periareolar Incision for Rhinoplasty in Mastopexy.

At our department, the authors performed a periareolar mastopexy and harvested costal cartilage for use in a rhinoplasty through the same periareolar incision. This technique has several advantages compared to the traditional method, including less invasion, minimal chance of a hypertrophic scar and easier postoperative care. However, the location of the incision determines that the fifth costal cartilage is the lowest one accessible.

Adenosine deaminase acting on RNA (ADAR)-catalyzed adenosine-to-inosine RNA editing is potentially dysregulated in neoplastic progression. However, how this transcriptome recoding process is functionally correlated with tumorigenesis remains largely elusive. Our analyses of RNA editome datasets identify hypoxia-related genes as A-to-I editing targets.

Electricity generation in a membrane-less microbial fuel cell with down-flow feeding onto the cathode.

A novel membrane-less microbial fuel cell (MFC) with down-flow feeding was constructed to generate electricity. Wastewater was fed directly onto the cathode which was horizontally installed in the upper part of the MFC. Oxygen could be utilized readily from the air.
