Separation/conversion disorders in functional coma with pseudocataplexy are rare.On December 9,2021,a young female patient with separation/conversion disorders was treated in the Department of Neurology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University.The main symptoms were episodic consciousness disorders,sudden fainting,and urinary incontinence.

[Research Progress in the Correlation Between Dopamine and Clinical Characterization of Narcolepsy].

Dopamine,a neurotransmitter ubiquitous in the body fluids,blood,and urine of mammals and humans,is responsible for regulating their functions and metabolism.The dopamine system is involved in the neurobiological mechanisms of narcolepsy in animals and humans.However,researchers have drawn different or even opposite conclusions when measuring the dopamine level in the cerebrospinal fluid of narcolepsy patients.

Association of sleep duration with sarcopenic obesity in multi-ethnic older adults: findings from the WCHAT Study.

Objective: Sarcopenic obesity is a prevalent geriatric syndrome, characterized by concurrence of sarcopenia and obesity. Sleep duration is linked to both obesity and sarcopenia. However, little was known regarding the association of sleep duration with sarcopenic obesity.

Efficacy and safety comparison of pharmacotherapies for interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndrome: a systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The objective was to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of pharmacological interventions for interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) with direct and indirect evidence from randomized trials.

Methods: We searched PubMed, the Cochrane library, and EMBASE for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that assessed the pharmacological therapies for IC/BPS. Primary efficacy outcomes included ICSI (O'Leary Sant Interstitial Cystitis Symptom Index), ICPI (O'Leary Sant Interstitial Cystitis Problem Index), 24-h micturition frequency, visual analog scale (VAS), and Likert score for pain.

The association of sleep quality and sleep duration with nutritional status in older adults: Findings from the WCHAT study.

Objective: To identify the associations between sleep quality, sleep duration and nutritional status in older adults.

Methods: Data from a total of 6792 community-dwellings adults aged 50 and over from the baseline of the West China Health and Aging Trend (WCHAT) study were analyzed. Sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).

The association between systemic inflammatory markers and sarcopenia: Results from the West China Health and Aging Trend Study (WCHAT).

Background: Increased evidence suggests chronic inflammation is significant in the progression of sarcopenia in older adults. In this study, we aimed to compare the level of systemic inflammation markers (White blood cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes, platelets and their derived ratios) between sarcopenic and non-sarcopenic individuals and investigate the association of these inflammatory markers with sarcopenia.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 4224 adults (1514 men and 2710 women) from the West China Health and Aging Trend (WCHAT) study.

Haladaptatus pallidirubidus sp. nov., a halophilic archaeon isolated from saline soil samples in Yunnan and Xinjiang, China.

Two extremely halophilic archaea, designated YIM 90917 and YIM 93656(T), were isolated from saline soils in Yunnan province and Lup nur region in Xinjiang province, western China, respectively. Colonies of the two strains were observed to be pink-pigmented. The cells were found to be Gram-stain negative, coccoid and non-motile.
