Introduction: Hospitalization is an important clinical factor associated with survival and rehospitalization in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Thus, this study examined treatment patterns before and after hospitalization in the US-specific population.
Methods: Adult PAH patients in the United States were identified using the Optum Clinformatics database from January 1, 2014, to June 30, 2019, and were required to have continuous health plan enrollment for at least 6 months prior to the first (index) hospitalization through at least 90 days post-discharge.
Background: Studies have shown that patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) who discontinue oral anticoagulants (OACs) are at higher risk of complications such as stroke.
Objective: This analysis compared the risk of non-persistence with OACs among patients with NVAF.
Methods: Adult patients with NVAF who initiated apixaban, dabigatran, rivaroxaban, or warfarin were identified using 01JAN2013-30JUN2019 data from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and four US commercial claims databases.

In this article, a VR-based basketball training system comprising a standalone VR device and a tablet is proposed. The system is intended to improve the ability of players to understand offensive tactics and practice these tactics correctly. We compare the training effectiveness of various degrees of immersion, including a conventional basketball tactic board, a 2D monitor, and virtual reality.

The system has to correctly recognize a set of gestures related to official referee's signals (ORSs) and another set of gestures used to intuitively interact with the system. These two gesture sets involve both large motion and subtle motion gestures, and the existing sensor-based methods using handcrafted features do not work well on recognizing all kinds of these gestures.
