Leading-edge serrations inspired by owls exhibit the capability to control airfoil-turbulence interaction noise, but the design principle of the serration shape is still an open issue. To this end, we designed five types of serration shapes with different combinations of curvature, namely, triangular, ogee, anti-ogee, feather-like, and anti-feather-like. These curves are applied to serrated modifications with different bluntness levels (sharp or blunt) and amplitudes (0.

Our study aimed to investigate whether the predicted risk for cardiac death with the Framingham risk score (FRS) could be further improved with the addition of AAC score in general population aged ≥ 40 years.
Methods: A total of 2971 participants aged ≥ 40 years in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) 2013-2014 were followed up.
Objectives: Dermatomyositis (DM) is frequently associated with interstitial lung disease (ILD); however, the molecular mechanisms underlying this association remain unclear. This study aimed to employ bioinformatics approaches to identify potential molecular mechanisms linking DM and ILD.
Methods: GSE46239 and GSE47162 were analysed to identify common differentially expressed genes (DEGs).
Single-atom nanozymes (SAzymes) with excellent biological catalytic activity have emerged as promising candidates for advancing biomedical applications. Herein, we synthesized a RuN-SAzyme by thermal decomposition. In experiments, the RuN-SAzyme demonstrated exceptional catalytic efficiency in mimicking the activity of peroxidase, with a Michaelis-Menten constant () for 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine reaching 0.

In this study, two Lewis bases based on chalcogen-thiophene (n-Bu4S) and selenophene (n-Bu4Se) having tetra-pyridine as bridge are developed to passivate defects in perovskite film. The uncoordinated Pb and iodine vacancy defects can interact with chalcogen-concave group and pyridine group through the formation of the Lewis acid-base adduct, particularly both the defects can be surrounded by concave molecules, resulting in effective suppression charge recombination.

Although lignin is known to generally impede cellulose hydrolysis, previous research has demonstrated lignin's potential to act as a co-factor in boosting LPMO activity and that the negative impact of lignin limiting enzyme accessibility can be mitigated by sulfonated. When sulphonated lignin was added to microcrystalline cellulose (Avicel) the activity of the lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO) was boosted, as determined when using a quartz crystal microbalance and dissipation monitoring (QCM-D).

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is characterized genetically by diverse gene mutations of the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling cascade. BRAFN486_T491delinsK mutation is a rare mutation that involves the β2-αC ring domain, causing activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway, and is predicted to be resistant to the chemotherapy and BRAFV600E inhibitor in adult LCH cases. Here, we report a childhood LCH case with this novel BRAF mutation and had a good response to conventional chemotherapy.

Ellagic acid (EA) is one of the main types of plant polyphenols with improved pharmacological effects such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. However, currently, the studies on the impact of EA on the gut microbiota and its potential to alleviate UC in mice through the ROS/NLRP3 pathway are limited.

However, population-based studies exploring the associations between dietary AGEs intake and female infertility remain lacking. This studyaimed to determine the relationship between dietary AGEs intake and female infertility based on National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

The vulnerability, exposure, and emergency recovery capacity of the transport system in Changchun were analyzed by constructing a comprehensive assessment framework combining multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDM) and geographic information system (GIS). Based on the meteorological and traffic data of Changchun City in the past 10 years, key indicators such as traffic network density, emergency resource distribution, traffic flow, and extreme weather frequency were selected in this study.

Recently, the infection of ducks with serotype 4 fowl adenovirus (FAdV-4) has also been reported in China. Therefore, an efficient bivalent vaccine to control the diseases caused by DAdV-3 and FAdV-4 is extremely urgent.

Transformer is a powerful model widely used in artificial intelligence applications. It contains complex structures and has extremely high computational requirements that are not suitable for embedded intelligent sensors with limited computational resources. The binary quantization technology takes up less memory space and has a faster calculation speed; however, it is seldom studied for the lightweight transformer.

In order to contribute to the understanding of aerosol dynamics during dental operation and efficiently mitigate their dispersion and deposition through appropriate ventilation, 3D numerical simulations and full-scale experimental measurements were performed in this study. The indoor airflow distribution and dynamic aerosol behaviors observed under three optimized ventilation schemes (Scenario I-III) were compared with those observed under the current ventilation system.

Objectives: This study aims to define the updated antifungal susceptibility profile of M.
Background And Aims: Cirrhosis is characterised by hyperdynamic circulation, which contributes to cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCM). However, the expert consensus on CCM did not initially include cardiac structure because of scant evidence. Therefore, this study investigated the associations of cardiac chamber geometry with mortality and CCM.

species, the leading cause of dermatophytosis globally, are increasingly resistant to antifungal treatments, concerns about effective management strategies. In light of the absence of established resistance criteria for terbinafine and azoles, coupled with a dearth of research on resistance mechanisms in , antifungal susceptibility and drug resistance gene diversity were analyzed across 64 , 65 , and 2 isolates collected in China between 2001 and 2024 and 101 published strains. Analyses of the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of terbinafine, itraconazole, voriconazole, posaconazole, and isavuconazole revealed a concerning increase in with terbinafine resistance, including two novel isolates from China.

We sought to develop an organoid-based system to reproducibly propagate HRV-C, and characterize virus-host interaction using respiratory organoids. We demonstrate that airway organoids sustain serial virus passage with the aid of CYT387-mediated immunosuppression, whereas nasal organoids that more closely simulate the upper airway achieve this without any intervention.

This prothrombotic state is considered a key factor in the increased risk of stroke, which is observed clinically during both acute infection and long after symptoms clear. Here, we develop a model of SARS-CoV-2 infection using human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived endothelial cells (ECs), pericytes (PCs), and smooth muscle cells (SMCs) to recapitulate the vascular pathology associated with SARS-CoV-2 exposure.

To address the challenges related to active power dissipation and node voltage fluctuation in the practical transformation of power grids in the field of new energy such as wind and photovoltaic power generation, an improved Dung Beetle Optimization Algorithm Based on a Hybrid Strategy of Levy Flight and Differential Evolution (LDEDBO) is proposed. This paper systematically addresses this issue from three aspects: firstly, optimizing the DBO algorithm using Chebyshev chaotic mapping, Levy flight strategy, and differential evolution algorithm; secondly, validating the algorithm's feasibility through real-time network reconfiguration at random time points within a 24-h period; and finally, applying the LDEDBO to address the dynamic reconfiguration problems of the IEEE-33 and IEEE-69 node bus. The simulation indicates that the power dissipation of the IEEE-33 node bus is decreased by 28.
