The influence of social knowledge structures on hostile attribution bias in aggressive and nonaggressive individuals: An ERP study.

According to several social-cognitive models, social knowledge structures described as hostile scripts or schemas may explain why aggressive individuals are prone to attribute hostile intention to others' ambiguous behaviors, a cognitive bias called hostile attribution bias (HAB). The aggression-related concepts in aggressive individuals' semantic memory would be highly accessible, notably through the activation of hostile concepts in nonhostile social contexts, and such an activation would result in HAB. The aim of the study was to test this hypothesis using the N400 component with EEG measurements to assess objectively, in real time, the violation of hostile expectations following a nonhostile situation.

Regioselective Syntheses of 2,3,5-Trisubstituted Pyridines via 5-Chloro-3-fluoro-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyridine.

We report the high-yielding, large-scale, one-pot synthesis of two versatile building blocks ( and -) for the regioselective synthesis of a variety of 2,3,5-trisubstituted pyridines from inexpensive materials. These molecules are readily derivatized at positions 2, 3, and 5. These building blocks can also be used for the synthesis of fused pyrido-oxazines and for the synthesis of 2,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted pyridines.

A Nationwide Study on HER2-Low Breast Cancer in South Korea: Its Incidence of 2022 Real World Data and the Importance of Immunohistochemical Staining Protocols.

Purpose: Notable effectiveness of trastuzumab deruxtecan in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-low advanced breast cancer (BC) has focused pathologists' attention. We studied the incidence and clinicopathologic characteristics of HER2-low BC, and the effects of immunohistochemistry (IHC) associated factors on HER2 IHC results.

Materials And Methods: The Breast Pathology Study Group of the Korean Society of Pathologists conducted a nationwide study using real-world data on HER2 status generated between January 2022 and December 2022.

Because there is a shortage of donor kidneys, researchers are exploring the possibility of using genetically modified pig kidneys for transplantation. Comparative transcriptome analysis between long- and short-term survival after pig-to-monkey cardiac xenotransplantation reveals differential heart failure development.

Cardiac xenotransplantation is the potential treatment for end-stage heart failure, but the allogenic organ supply needs to catch up to clinical demand. Therefore, genetically-modified porcine heart xenotransplantation could be a potential alternative. So far, pig-to-monkey heart xenografts have been studied using multi-transgenic pigs, indicating various survival periods.

Boosting oxygen evolution reaction activity with Mo incorporated NiFe-LDH electrocatalyst for efficient water electrolysis.

This work demonstrates a simple and scalable methodology for the binder-free direct growth of Mo-doped NiFe-layered double hydroxides on a nickel substrate via an electrodeposition route at room temperature. A three-dimensional (3D) nanosheet array morphology of the electrocatalyst provides immense electrochemical surface area as well as abundant catalytically active sites. Mo incorporation in the NiFe-LDH plays a crucial role in regulating the catalytic activity of oxygen evolution reaction (OER).

A prospective phase 2 study of expeditious genotyping and immediate therapeutic initiation through extracellular vesicles (EV)-based bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) liquid biopsy in advanced NSCLC patients.

Background: In our previous study, epidermal growth factor receptor () genotyping using extracellular vesicles (EV)-derived DNA isolated from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was proven to be highly concordant with conventional tissue-based genotyping and its turn-around-time (TAT) was only 1-2 days. On this background, we prospectively validated the performance of EV-based BALF liquid biopsy for genotyping in the real practice of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Methods: After screening 120 newly diagnosed stage III-IV NSCLC patients, 51 cases were detected as -mutated by EV-based BALF genotyping and 40 patients were enrolled for gefitinib treatment.

This method focuses on the synthesis of α-CF-β-arylethylamines, which can be potential key intermediates in the synthesis of synthetic analogues and biologically active molecules. Density functional theory calculations reveal the nature of the active copper species and the role of the LiClMgX (X = Cl or I) as a Lewis acid.

Subungual Osteochondromas of the Toe: Two Case Reports for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Benign cartilaginous tumors, known as chondrogenic tumors, show cartilage components in the microscopic diagnosis. We present two clinical cases with cartilaginous tumors of the toes showing distinctive clinical manifestations. Two juvenile patients visited our outpatient clinic due to tumors with toenail deformities.

To overcome the limitations of the tissue biopsy and plasma cfDNA liquid biopsy, we performed the EV-based BALF liquid biopsy of 224 newly diagnosed stage III-IV NSCLC patients and compared it with tissue genotyping and 110 plasma liquid biopsies. Isolation of EVs from BALF was performed by ultracentrifugation. EGFR genotyping was performed through peptide nucleic acid clamping-assisted fluorescence melting curve analysis.

Copper catalyzed regioselective and stereospecific coupling between aziridines and generated pyridine Grignard reagents is reported. This method provides β-pyridylethylamines with diverse structures and functionalities from aziridines and iodopyridines. β-Pyridylethylamines are potential scaffolds for the synthesis of biologically active compounds often found in pharmaceuticals.

Gender-related outcomes in robot-assisted radical cystectomy: A multi-institutional study.

Purpose: Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) optimizes patient recovery and has outcomes comparable with those of open surgery. This study aimed to compare the perioperative and oncologic outcomes of RARC in female and male patients.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study of the Korean Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy Study Group database from 2007 to 2019 identified 749 patients (111 females and 638 males).

Unmet needs and quality of life of caregivers of Korean breast cancer survivors: a cross-sectional study.

Purpose: As the survival rates of cancer patients have been increasing due to early diagnosis and technological advances in treatment, their caregiver burden has also emerged as an important issue. In view of this situation, this study aims to investigate the unmet needs and quality of life of caregivers of Korean breast cancer survivors.

Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional interview survey was performed among 160 caregivers of Korean breast cancer survivors.

Programmed Death Ligand 1 Immunohistochemistry in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer: Evaluation of Inter-Pathologist Concordance and Inter-Assay Variability.

Purpose: The programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) SP142 assay with a 1% immune cell (IC) cutoff is approved for the selection of advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients for atezolizumab treatment. We aimed to evaluate the interobserver concordance of PD-L1 scoring and inter-assay variability of various PD-L1 assays in TNBC.

Methods: Thirty patients with primary TNBC were selected, and SP142, SP263, 22C3, and E1L3N assays were performed.

Effect of intraoperative fluid volume on postoperative ileus after robot-assisted radical cystectomy.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of intraoperative fluid volume on the postoperative ileus (POI) recovery period. A retrospective review of the Korean robot-assisted radical cystectomy database identified 718 patients who underwent robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). Regression analyses were performed to identify the associations between the amount of intraoperative fluid administration (crystalloid/colloid/total), POI period (time to flatus/bowel movements), and length of hospital stay (LOS) after adjusting for covariates.

Molecular biomarker testing for non-small cell lung cancer: consensus statement of the Korean Cardiopulmonary Pathology Study Group.

Molecular biomarker testing is the standard of care for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. In 2017, the Korean Cardiopulmonary Pathology Study Group and the Korean Molecular Pathology Study Group co-published a molecular testing guideline which contained almost all known genetic changes that aid in treatment decisions or predict prognosis in patients with NSCLC. Since then there have been significant changes in targeted therapies as well as molecular testing including newly approved targeted drugs and liquid biopsy.

High Gain and Broadband Absorption Graphene Photodetector Decorated with BiTe Nanowires.

A graphene photodetector decorated with BiTe nanowires (NWs) with a high gain of up to 3 × 10 and wide bandwidth window (400-2200 nm) has been demonstrated. The photoconductive gain was improved by two orders of magnitude compared to the gain of a photodetector using a graphene/BiTe nanoplate junction. Additionally, the position of photocurrent generation was investigated at the graphene/BiTe NWs junction.

The total synthesis of (+)-03219A, a rare Δ-pregnene isolated from the marine-derived sp. SCSIO 03219, is described that is based on a series of transformations that enable progression from epichlorohydrin to an -estrane, then conversion to a -androstane, and finally establishment of the natural product target. Key to the success of these studies was implementation of two rearrangement processes to formally invert the quaternary center at C13 and establish the C10 quaternary center.

The effects of the activation of hostile and non-hostile schemas on intent attribution processes in non-aggressive individuals: An ERP study.

We investigated the influences of hostile and non-hostile schemas activations in non-aggressive individuals on their intent attribution processes in various social contexts. 38 non-aggressive participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups, one primed with negative words, to be conditioned as temporarily hostile (TH), and the other with positive words, be conditioned as temporarily non-hostile (TNH). They were asked to read social scenarios composed of positive or negative behaviors of others whose intentions are ambiguous followed by a disambiguation of others' real intentions (hostile vs non-hostile) behind their behaviors.
