This study aimed to measure lens capsule thickness and investigate histopathologic characteristics of persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (PHPV) in Korean pediatric cataracts. We analyzed lens capsules from 116 eyes of 83 pediatric cataract patients treated between 2011 and 2015. The mean thickness of the anterior/posterior capsule was 7.

The aggression-related concepts in aggressive individuals' semantic memory would be highly accessible, notably through the activation of hostile concepts in nonhostile social contexts, and such an activation would result in HAB. The aim of the study was to test this hypothesis using the N400 component with EEG measurements to assess objectively, in real time, the violation of hostile expectations following a nonhostile situation.

These molecules are readily derivatized at positions 2, 3, and 5. These building blocks can also be used for the synthesis of fused pyrido-oxazines and for the synthesis of 2,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted pyridines.

Purpose: Notable effectiveness of trastuzumab deruxtecan in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-low advanced breast cancer (BC) has focused pathologists' attention. We studied the incidence and clinicopathologic characteristics of HER2-low BC, and the effects of immunohistochemistry (IHC) associated factors on HER2 IHC results.
Materials And Methods: The Breast Pathology Study Group of the Korean Society of Pathologists conducted a nationwide study using real-world data on HER2 status generated between January 2022 and December 2022.
Because there is a shortage of donor kidneys, researchers are exploring the possibility of using genetically modified pig kidneys for transplantation. Approaches involving knockout of carbohydrate genes or knockin of protective proteins have been attempted to determine the best gene modifications. In this study, we utilized ; and ; pigs for transplantation in nonhuman primates (NHPs).

Cardiac xenotransplantation is the potential treatment for end-stage heart failure, but the allogenic organ supply needs to catch up to clinical demand. Therefore, genetically-modified porcine heart xenotransplantation could be a potential alternative. So far, pig-to-monkey heart xenografts have been studied using multi-transgenic pigs, indicating various survival periods.

A three-dimensional (3D) nanosheet array morphology of the electrocatalyst provides immense electrochemical surface area as well as abundant catalytically active sites. Mo incorporation in the NiFe-LDH plays a crucial role in regulating the catalytic activity of oxygen evolution reaction (OER).

On this background, we prospectively validated the performance of EV-based BALF liquid biopsy for genotyping in the real practice of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.
Methods: After screening 120 newly diagnosed stage III-IV NSCLC patients, 51 cases were detected as -mutated by EV-based BALF genotyping and 40 patients were enrolled for gefitinib treatment.
The copper catalyzed regioselective and stereospecific opening of CF-aziridines is reported. This method focuses on the synthesis of α-CF-β-arylethylamines, which can be potential key intermediates in the synthesis of synthetic analogues and biologically active molecules. Density functional theory calculations reveal the nature of the active copper species and the role of the LiClMgX (X = Cl or I) as a Lewis acid.

Isolation of EVs from BALF was performed by ultracentrifugation. EGFR genotyping was performed through peptide nucleic acid clamping-assisted fluorescence melting curve analysis.

This method provides β-pyridylethylamines with diverse structures and functionalities from aziridines and iodopyridines. β-Pyridylethylamines are potential scaffolds for the synthesis of biologically active compounds often found in pharmaceuticals.

AK from (AK) has four highly conserved histidine residues, namely, H90, H227, H284, and H315 in the amino acid sequence. In contrast to AK WT (wild type), the enzyme activity of the H227A mutant decreases by 18%.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study of the Korean Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy Study Group database from 2007 to 2019 identified 749 patients (111 females and 638 males).
Purpose: As the survival rates of cancer patients have been increasing due to early diagnosis and technological advances in treatment, their caregiver burden has also emerged as an important issue. In view of this situation, this study aims to investigate the unmet needs and quality of life of caregivers of Korean breast cancer survivors.
Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional interview survey was performed among 160 caregivers of Korean breast cancer survivors.
Purpose: The programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) SP142 assay with a 1% immune cell (IC) cutoff is approved for the selection of advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients for atezolizumab treatment. We aimed to evaluate the interobserver concordance of PD-L1 scoring and inter-assay variability of various PD-L1 assays in TNBC.
Methods: Thirty patients with primary TNBC were selected, and SP142, SP263, 22C3, and E1L3N assays were performed.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of intraoperative fluid volume on the postoperative ileus (POI) recovery period. A retrospective review of the Korean robot-assisted radical cystectomy database identified 718 patients who underwent robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). Regression analyses were performed to identify the associations between the amount of intraoperative fluid administration (crystalloid/colloid/total), POI period (time to flatus/bowel movements), and length of hospital stay (LOS) after adjusting for covariates.

In 2017, the Korean Cardiopulmonary Pathology Study Group and the Korean Molecular Pathology Study Group co-published a molecular testing guideline which contained almost all known genetic changes that aid in treatment decisions or predict prognosis in patients with NSCLC. Since then there have been significant changes in targeted therapies as well as molecular testing including newly approved targeted drugs and liquid biopsy.

A graphene photodetector decorated with BiTe nanowires (NWs) with a high gain of up to 3 × 10 and wide bandwidth window (400-2200 nm) has been demonstrated. The photoconductive gain was improved by two orders of magnitude compared to the gain of a photodetector using a graphene/BiTe nanoplate junction. Additionally, the position of photocurrent generation was investigated at the graphene/BiTe NWs junction.

SCSIO 03219, is described that is based on a series of transformations that enable progression from epichlorohydrin to an -estrane, then conversion to a -androstane, and finally establishment of the natural product target. Key to the success of these studies was implementation of two rearrangement processes to formally invert the quaternary center at C13 and establish the C10 quaternary center.

They were asked to read social scenarios composed of positive or negative behaviors of others whose intentions are ambiguous followed by a disambiguation of others' real intentions (hostile vs non-hostile) behind their behaviors.
