BPA is so ubiquitous that 27 million tons of BPA-containing plastic, including mineral water bottles and baby bottles, is produced worldwide each year. The potential toxicity of BPA to humans and aquatic organisms has been the subject of intense research. In this study, a zebrafish model system was used to assess BPA-mediated hepatotoxicity.

Herein, we synthesized two multifunctional compounds: (propyl-quinuclidone) CdBr (1) and (F-butyl-quinuclidone) CdBr (2). By introducing light-emitting organic cation with flexible long chain, 1 and 2 exhibit excellent transition properties and bright blue-white fluorescence.

When injected locally or systemically, they have the ability to provide a variety of therapeutic effects, for example, regeneration of skin damage or restoration of cardiac function. However, direct injection of extracellular vesicles may result in their rapid clearance from the injection site.

Massive GGGGCC (G4C2) repeat expansion in and the resulting loss of C9orf72 function are the key features of ~50% of inherited amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia cases. However, the biological function of C9orf72 remains unclear. We previously found that C9orf72 can form a stable GTPase activating protein (GAP) complex with SMCR8 (Smith-Magenis chromosome region 8).

Gamma linolenic acid (GLA) is a key factor participating in lipid metabolism, which is also confirmed to regulate the inflammatory response. However, the associations of serum GLA levels with rosacea severity and psychological status still remain unclear.

MAVS and STING play key roles in immune signaling pathways activated by RNA and DNA viruses, respectively. Here, we showed that DHCR24 impaired the antiviral response by targeting MAVS and STING.

The lack of suitable and effective infection models has greatly limited research in HBV-related fields for a long time, and it is still not possible to discover a method to completely and effectively remove the HBV genome. We have constructed a hepatocellular carcinoma cell line, HLCZ01, that can support the complete life cycle of HBV.

This study used two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) to investigate the change of left ventricular (LV) myocardial function undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) within 1-3 months.
Methods: A total of 56 patients with ESRD and 27 healthy controls were enrolled in this prospective study.
Laryngeal cancer ranks as the second most prevalent upper airway malignancy, following Lung cancer. Although some progress has been made in managing laryngeal cancer, the 5-year survival rate is disappointing. The gradual increase in the incidence of second primary tumors (SPTs) plays a crucial role in determining survival outcomes during long-term follow-up, and the esophagus was the most common site with a worse prognosis.

This study focused on the significance of long non-coding RNA Fas cell surface death receptor-antisense 1(lncRNA FAS-AS1) in ESRD-related vascular calcification aiming to explore a potential biomarker for the detection.
Methods: The study enrolled 65 healthy individuals, 79 ESRD patients (48 patients with vascular calcification), and 93 early-stage (I-IV) chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients.
As a class of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), the spatial and temporal distribution of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in seawater is important for environmental assessment. Surface water samples were collected from 35 stations during summer and 36 stations during autumn of 2020 in the Bohai Bay. The concentration, composition, distribution and sources of PCBs were analyzed to assess the ecological impact of PCBs.

In this paper, research was conducted on Deep Learning Wavefront Sensing (DLWS) neural networks using simulated atmospheric turbulence datasets, and a novel DLWS was proposed based on attention mechanisms and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). The study encompassed both indoor experiments and kilometer-range laser transmission experiments employing DLWS. In terms of indoor experiments, data were collected and training was performed on the platform built by us.

Here, we sought to explore its therapeutic potential in animal models and gain a deeper understanding of its therapeutic value for asthma. miR-511-3p knockout mice (miR-511-3p) were generated by CRISPR/Cas and showed exacerbated airway hyper-responsiveness and Th2-associated allergic airway inflammation compared with wild-type (WT) mice after exposed to cockroach allergen.

A conventional intelligent fault diagnosis approach for electric submersible pumps (ESPs) is heavily dependent on manual expertise for feature extraction. Meanwhile, a conventional convolutional neural network (CNN) exhibits an excess of parameters and requires a substantial volume of training samples. In this paper, a fault diagnosis algorithm of ESPs based on a Bayesian optimization-one-dimensional convolutional neural network-support vector machine (BO-1DCNN-SVM) is proposed by combining a 1DCNN with a SVM and using the algorithm BO to tune the improved 1DCNN.

Our recent study uncovered that butyrate promoted IL-22 production in fish macrophages to augment the host defense. In the current study, we further explored the underlying signaling pathways in butyrate-induced IL-22 production in fish macrophages.
