Purpose: This study aimed to systematically evaluate the effectiveness of case-based learning (CBL) within a basic-clinical integrated educational program using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model.
Methods: The CBL program was integrated into the Pharmacology-Clinical Case Practice component of the pharmacology course, a mandatory course for first-year medical students. To evaluate the program, a CIPP model-based questionnaire was developed, assessing needs, goals, resources, educational management, and outcomes.

Background: Nobiletin is a natural compound with anticancer activity; however, the mechanism is not clear.
Methods: The inhibitory effect of nobiletin on non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells was examined using soft agar, Transwell, and apoptosis analyses. Cancer stemness was measured by sphere assay.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the preoperative C-reactive protein (CRP) to albumin ratio (CAR) of patients with gastric cancer and to investigate the factors correlated with perioperative complications. From March 2016 to December 2019, 128 patients who underwent curative gastrectomy for gastric cancer were enrolled in a retrospective study. The preoperative cutoff value of the CAR for predicting postoperative complications was 0.

Here, we found that the level of miR-200b/200a/429 was significantly increased in serum and tumor tissues of patients with stage-I ovarian cancer. Consistent with these results, we detected increased expression levels of miR-200b/200a/429 in ovarian cancer cell lines compared with the human nontumorigenic ovarian epithelial cell line T80.

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are associated with recovery and protection from cell damage. The aim of the current study was to investigate differences in the expression of HSPs in the small intestine and the biochemical changes attributable to ethanol-induced intestinal damage.

In this study, we examined the involvement of different types of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) in the induction of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) by dsRNA in microglial cells. Nitric oxide production was increased after exposure of microglia to 50mug/mL dsRNA.

The present study compared the innate immune responses of the murine microglial cell line BV2 to dsRNA and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). It showed that the effect of dsRNA was similar to that of LPS treatment.

Methods: Two human colon cancer cell lines (HCT-15 and HT-29) were treated with 5-FU and celecoxib, alone and in combination. The effects of each drug were evaluated using the MTT [3- (4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] assay, flow cytometry, and western blotting.
Tissue transglutaminase (tTG) likely plays a role in numerous processes in the nervous system. tTG posttranslationally modifies proteins by transamidation of specific polypeptide bound glutamines (Glns). This reaction results in the incorporation of polyamines into substrate proteins or the formation of protein crosslinks, modifications that likely have significant effects on neural function.
