Epitranscriptomic modifications, particularly N6-methyladenosine (mA), are crucial regulators of gene expression, influencing processes such as RNA stability, splicing, and translation. Traditional computational methods for detecting mA from Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS) data are constrained by their reliance on experimentally validated labels, often resulting in the underestimation of modification sites. Here, we introduce pum6a, an innovative attention-based framework that integrates positive and unlabeled multi-instance learning (MIL) to address the challenges of incomplete labeling and missing read-level annotations.

AMD leaves the patient with irreversible deteriorating vision, which profoundly impacts their daily lives and psychosocial well-being. Given the limited studies addressing the psychosocial needs of adults with AMD and, in particular, using an expressive arts-based intervention (EXABI) as an intervention, this study aims to investigate the effectiveness of such an intervention in enhancing the psychosocial well-being of adults with AMD.

Due to reversible hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interactions and metal coordination crosslinking between the polymer networks, the resulting Gel/PSAA-Al hydrogels present low swelling property in water and exhibit large tensile properties (~1050 %), high tensile strength (~250 kPa) and excellent fatigue resistance. In addition, the hydration capacity of SBMA and AlCl endows the Gel/PSAA-Al hydrogel fantastic anti-freezing (-31.

The persistence and ecological impact of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water sources necessitate effective and energy-efficient treatment solutions. This study introduces a novel approach using cerium dioxide (CeO) electrodes enhanced with oxygen vacancy (O) to catalyze the defluorination of PFAS. By leveraging the unique affinity between cerium and fluorine-containing species, our approach enables adsorptive preconcentration and catalytic degradation at low oxidation potentials (1.

Here we discuss food safety in the rapidly developing field of cultivated meat as it shifts from lab-based to commercial scales. We focus on what science-informed risk mitigation processes can be implemented from neighbouring fields.

Objectives: To investigate the factors influencing the levels of fear regarding psychotherapy in adolescents with depression.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted among 258 adolescents with depression who were treated in the outpatient service and inpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from September 2023 to March 2024. A questionnaire survey was performed.
Background: Given growing demand for hip and knee arthroplasty and unsustainable resource requirements, safe and efficient models of care are critical. This study aims to determine the impact on healthcare costs of implementing an enhanced short-stay model of care (ESS-MOC) for arthroplasty at a national level.
Methods: A budget impact analysis was conducted for the years 2023-2030 in the setting of Australian publicly and privately funded hospitals performing hip or knee arthroplasty.
Conductive hydrogels have received much attention in the field of flexible wearable sensors due to their outstanding flexibility, conductivity, sensitivity and excellent compatibility. However, most conductive hydrogels mainly focus on strain sensors to detect human motion and lack other features such as temperature response. Herein, we prepared a strain and temperature dual responsive ionic conductive hydrogel (PPPNV) with an interpenetrating network structure by introducing a covalent crosslinked network of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) and 1-vinyl-3-butylimidazolium bromide (VBIMBr) into the skeleton of the hydrogel composed of polyvinylalcohol (PVA) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP).

Methods: A pilot cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted in 15 family service centers. The intervention group (N = 162, 8 centers) received two 2-h interventions uniquely combining "Sharing, Mind and Enjoyment (SME)," Zero-time Exercises (ZTEx), positive psychology, and simple family games.
Objective: This study aimed to initially adopt an International Healthy Eating Report Card for Preschool-Aged Children to assess the prevalence of healthy eating behaviours and favourable family home food environments (FHFEs) among preschool-aged children in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US. We also examined which cultural contexts would exhibit significant differences in the report card scores among the four cultural contexts.
Methods: In this cross-cultural study, 2059 parent-child dyads, with approximately 500 dyads in each cultural context, were recruited.
Background: Previous research has highlighted correlations between blood cell counts and chronic liver disease. Nonetheless, the causal relationships remain unknown.
Aim: To evaluate the causal effect of blood cell traits on liver enzymes and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) risk.
A three-wave prospective study was conducted to provide a better understanding of the ability of the integrated model of self-determination theory (SDT) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to predict future physical activity (PA) engagement among adolescents. Nearly 2500 secondary school students from China were recruited to test the hypothesized pathway from autonomous motivation from SDT at baseline (T1) through the constructs of TPB one month later (T2) on leisure-time PA levels of secondary school students three months later (T3). The findings revealed that the structural equation models yielded excellent fit indices with χ = 1858.

This paper focuses on construction industry innovation (CII) and its correlation with region economic development (RED), providing valuable insights to overcome these challenges and promote sustainable economic advancement. This study references existing literature to devise an evaluation indicator system dedicated for CII and RED.

Numerous approaches exist to predict potential targets for a given ligand, but true targets may be inconsistently ranked. More advanced simulation methods may provide benefit in such cases by reranking these initial predictions.

Microneedles (MNs) appear to be highly desirable carriers for transdermal drug delivery of RA. However, microneedles typically are unable to keep up with the flexibility of joints, which decreases the effectiveness of administration.

However, no studies have assessed the efficacy and safety of the combination of taxane and lobaplatin. In this study, we conducted a randomized controlled phase II clinical study to compare the efficacy and safety of taxane combined with lobaplatin or anthracycline.
