Objectives: Diagnostic error is a global emergency. Context specificity is likely a source of the alarming rate of error and refers to the vexing phenomenon whereby a physician can see two patients with the same presenting complaint, identical history and examination findings, but due to the presence of contextual factors, decides on two different diagnoses. Studies have not empirically addressed the potential role of context specificity in management reasoning and errors with a diagnosis may not consistently translate to actual patient care.

Background: Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) has the highest sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevalence globally, but information about trends and geographic variation is limited by sparse aetiologic studies, particularly among men. This systematic review assessed chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and trichomoniasis prevalence by sex, sub-region, and year, and estimated male-to-female prevalence ratios for SSA.

Methods: We searched Embase, MEDLINE, Global Health, PubMed, and African Index Medicus for studies measuring STI prevalence among general populations from January 1, 2000, to September 17, 2024.

Currently, there are no data on carer strain in the context of emotionalism after stroke. We aimed to explore the degree of carer strain in carers of individuals with diagnosed PSE compared with carers of individuals with stroke but no PSE to examine whether carer strain varies with particular characteristics of the cared for individual (patient age, sex, social deprivation, stroke type, functional status, mood status) and to quantify the impact of PSE on carer strain, after accounting for other factors.

Hate crimes send messages of intolerance that can cause significant emotional and behavioral harm to entire identity groups. Previous research, based on intergroup emotions theory, has helped explain the psychological mechanisms that underpin the indirect effects of anti-LGBT+ hate crime, showing that incidents give rise to perceptions of threat among community members, which in turn elicit certain emotional reactions that trigger specific behavioral outcomes. This article provides two significant contributions to this developing knowledgebase.

In human proteomics, substantial efforts are ongoing to leverage large collections of mass spectrometry (MS) fragment ion spectra into extensive spectral libraries (SL) as a resource for data independent acquisition (DIA) analysis. Currently, such initiatives in equine research are still missing. Objectives: This paper explores (1) experiences of participating in Empowered Conversations, an online communication course for carers of people with dementia and (2) how participants felt the course had changed their experience of caring.

Method: Fifteen semi-structured interviews were completed with carers who had attended Empowered Conversations as part of a larger feasibility trial conducted in Greater Manchester, UK (ISRCTN15261686). Data were analysed using applied thematic analysis.
