Research on social identification in organizations is diverse and evolving. As focus has shifted to the effects of multiple identities, there is a need to further define relationships between the three primary work identification targets (i.e.

The Short Health Scale for GI symptoms (SHS-GI) is a simple questionnaire to measure the impact of GI inconvenience and symptoms on quality of life. The aim was to validate the SHS-GI in a general population sample and to compare it with SHS-data across different patient groups.

Additional left ventricular mechanical unloading, using a transfemoral micro-axial blood pump (Impella® Denver, Massachusetts, USA), might improve patients' outcomes. In this regard, we sought to investigate patients who suffered OHCA (out-of hospital cardiac arrest) or IHCA (in-hospital cardiac arrest) with subsequent eCPR via VA-ECMO (veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and concomitant Impella® implantation based on survival and feasibility of ECMO weaning.

Background: Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (eCPR) is an established treatment option for cardiac arrest. Mechanical reanimation devices are increasingly used but have been associated with complications. This study evaluates typical injury patterns and differences after mechanical versus manual chest compressions among patients undergoing eCPR.

Methods: Prospective cohort audit observation with dispatch of the MSU in the East of England Ambulance Service was conducted. Emergency patients categorised as code stroke and headache were included from 5 June to 18 December 2018.
Background: Severe acetabular bone loss in revision total hip arthroplasty (RTHA), both with or without pelvic discontinuity, remains a great challenge in orthopaedic surgery.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate risk factors for failure of custom-made acetabular implants in RTHA.
Methods: Seventy patients with severe acetabular bone loss (Paprosky Type III) and pelvic discontinuity, who required RTHA, were included in our study.
Purpose: The study examined the associations of multiple psychiatric and chronic conditions with the self-reported history of major depressive disorder (MDD) among patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and tested whether the associations differed by gender.
Methods: We conducted a secondary data analysis of baseline data from a clinical trial including 1,646 participants with OUD, of which 465 had MDD. A variable cluster analysis was used to classify chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.
Purpose: Screening for prostate cancer may have limited impact on decreasing prostate cancer-related mortality. A major disadvantage is overdiagnosis, whereby lesions are identified that would not have become evident during the man's lifetime if screening had not taken place. The present study aims to estimate the rate of overdiagnosis using Finnish data from the European randomized trial of prostate cancer screening.

Viral and bacterial coinfections (VBC) are common complications in patients with seasonal influenza and are associated with around 25% of all influenza-related deaths. The burden of pneumonia in patients with VBC in Spain is poorly characterized.

We performed a secondary analysis of the baseline data from a clinical trial including 1,645 individuals with OUD, of which 513 had anxiety disorder. Substance use disorders (SUDs) included alcohol, amphetamines, cannabis, cocaine, and sedative use disorders.

This study aims to report the prevalence of obesity and overlapping comorbidities in a rural population of children and adolescents with migraine. A cross-sectional, descriptive, secondary data analysis using a comprehensive patient database from the West Virginia University (WVU) Medicine Epic Clarity system will be reported. A review of electronic medical records of 990 children and adolescents, ages 7 to 17 years, evaluated for headache at a rural clinic from December 1, 2009 to December 31, 2017 was completed.

Method: Patients who underwent MRI of the liver including a multi-echo Dixon sequence for estimation of proton density fat fraction in 2017 as well as contrast-enhanced DECT imaging of the abdomen were included in this retrospective, monocentric IRB approved study. Furthermore, patients with a hepatic fat amount >5% who were examined in 2018 with MRI and DECT were included.
Shoulder stiffness is a condition of restricted glenohumeral range of motion (ROM), which can arise spontaneously or as consequence of a known cause. Several treatment options are available and currently no consensus has been obtained on which treatment algorithm represents the best choice for the patient. The aim of this study was to investigate surgeon practice patterns in Italy regarding treatment of primary shoulder stiffness.

This study aimed to determine whether patients with tibial fractures managed with intramedullary nails experience a lower rate of reoperation if treated at higher-volume hospitals, or by higher-volume or more experienced surgeons.
Methods: The Study to Prospectively Evaluate Reamed Intramedullary Nails in Patients with Tibial Fractures (SPRINT) was a multicentre randomized clinical trial comparing reamed and nonreamed intramedullary nailing on rates of reoperation to promote fracture union, treat infection or preserve the limb in patients with open and closed fractures of the tibial shaft.
Nurse assisted propofol sedation (NAPS) is a common method used for colonoscopies. It is safe and widely accepted by patients. Little is known, however, about the satisfaction of clinicians performing colonoscopies with NAPS and the factors that negatively influence this perception such as observer-reported pain events.

In an International Agency for Research on Cancer working group report, an approach was introduced to estimate the PAF using the average of a continuous exposure and the incremental relative risk (RR) per unit. This 'average risk' approach has been subsequently applied in several studies conducted worldwide.

We identify conditions under which the structure of the observed data is rich enough to provide sufficient degrees of freedom, such that a suitable latent class model can be fitted with identifiable accuracy parameters. We show that a Rule of Three applies, specifying that accuracy can be evaluated as long as there are at least three observations per individual with the given test.

This study tested the hypothesis of alterations in levels of fecal eosinophil-derived neurotoxin (F-EDN) and eosinophil density and degranulation within the colonic mucosa of IBS patients compared with healthy controls (HC). Colonic biopsies were collected from 37 IBS patients and 20 HC and analyzed for eosinophil numbers and local degranulation of eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) by histologic procedures.

Whether the expert opinion concords with underlying disease process and whether individual recall is accurate are both in doubt. This study aimed to identify naturally occurring clusters of individuals with respect to symptom pattern, evaluate their significance, compare cluster profiles with expert opinion and evaluate their temporal stability.
