Acetabular reconstruction using a roof reinforcement ring with hook for total hip arthroplasty in developmental dysplasia of the hip-osteoarthritis minimum 10-year follow-up results.

The outcome of 33 total hip arthroplasties using an acetabular reinforcement ring with hook for osteoarthritis associated with developmental dysplasia of the hip was reevaluated after a minimal follow-up of 10 years (average, 10.8 years). Most cases comprised Crowe type II (22 hips) and type III (7 hips) dysplasia.

Posterior thoracic extrapedicular fixation: a biomechanical study.

Study Design: In vitro biomechanical testing of thoracic spine specimens using a standardized three-dimensional spine flexibility protocol.

Objectives: To compare the mechanical stability of the intrapedicular and extrapedicular technique for pedicle screw placement. The hypothesis was that extrapedicular screw placement provides an equally rigid construct.
