Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of resin coating on the wear depth of highly viscous glass ionomer cements (HVGICs) after 40,000 cycles, corresponding to over 8 years of tooth brushing.
Materials And Methods: A resin composite (Gradia Direct Posterior), two HVGICs (EQUIA Fil and Riva Self Cure), a resin coating (EQUIA Coat) and a conventional varnish (Fuji Varnish) were used in the study. The control groups were the resin composite group and the non-coated HVGICs groups.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the shear bond strength (SBS), etching pattern and depth, and debonding performance of several market-leading, self-etching (SE) adhesives primarily used in restorative dentistry (iBond, Clearfil S(3) Bond, Clearfil Protect Bond, AdheSE, XenoIII), two experimental self-etching adhesives (exp. Bond 1, exp. Bond 2) and one experimental self-etching cement (SE Zement) used with and without prior phosphoric acid-etching, and to compare them to an orthodontic self-etching product (Transbond Plus SE Primer) and to traditional acid-etch technique (Transbond XT Primer, phosphoric acid)
Materials And Methods: All adhesives were applied on pumiced and embedded bovine incisors following the manufacturers' instructions.
Objective: Due to polymerisation shrinkage of resin-based composites, a high configuration factor in deep Class I cavities leads to a certain amount of stress when the material is bonded. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the influence of c-factor and different layering approaches on bonding to dentin with three different adhesive systems.
Materials And Methods: Dentin bond strengths of Z250 bonded with OptiBond FL, Single Bond, and One Up Bond F were measured on flattened dentin surfaces without cavity walls and on the cavity floor of Class I cavities (10 layering concepts).
