Residents' perceptions of household food waste during the COVID-19 outbreak in Korea.

Analyzing household food waste data at the global or national level remains a challenge, especially owing to lack of statistical systems and socio-cultural differences. This study determined the factors affecting the intention of households to reduce food waste on Jeju Island and on the Korean mainland. Socio-demographic factors significantly influence household food waste generation.
