Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have emerged as a promising alternative for renewable energy conversion. The synthesis and characterization of the 2-acetonitrile-benzoxazole (BOA) sensitizer MSW-1-4 are presented along with their chemical structures. Four new organic dyes, MSW-1 through MSW-4, were synthesized using BOA as the main building block, with different additional donor groups.
