Pleomorphic adenomas are the most commonly presented salivary gland tumor; however, exact etiologies are unknown. We present a systemic review investigating the demographics, clinical presentations, characteristics, and anatomical locations of oral cavity pleomorphic adenoma. Three electronic databases (PubMed, MEDLINE, and Scopus) and one search engine (Google Scholar) were used to identify studies published in English with no restrictions on the year of publication up to the first week of August 2022.

Article Synopsis
  • Schwannomas are rare, benign tumors from Schwann cells that can occur in various nerves, but their presence in the palate is uncommon and not well-documented.
  • A 39-year-old woman reported a foreign body sensation and swallowing difficulties, leading to the discovery of a smooth mass on the right side of her soft palate during an oral exam.
  • The mass was successfully surgically removed using a CO laser under local anesthesia, and follow-up assessments showed no recurrence after six months.
