Hepatic cysts have become increasingly frequent findings thanks to the improvement in diagnostic investigations. Distinction has to be made between congenital hepatic cysts (like liver cyst, PLCD) and acquired forms (such as a parasitic cyst and a cyst occurring as part of a neoplastic process) (1). When a simple hepatic cyst becomes symptomatic, when its size is > 4 cm or when there is some radiological suspicion of malignancy (thick wall, peripheral enhancement on CT/MRI) surgical management is indicated and relies on a variety of techniques (2).

In response, the Japan Sports Agency issued warnings about secondary damage to health, such as the threat to physical and mental well-being due to the lack of exercise in this situation. In this study, we report on cross-sectional and longitudinal examinations of standing trunk flexion to evaluate how temporary long-term school closures affected musculoskeletal function in elementary school students.

In literature it has been reported to be associated with a variety of clinical conditions such as: superior mesenteric ischemia, intestinal perforation, bowel necrosis, infections which can cause mucosal alterations and therefore increasing its permeability, necrotizing enterocolitis in babies, trauma, intestinal obstruction, autoimmune and pulmonary pathologies. Its presence is usually documented by radiological techniques such as abdominal X-ray, CT scan and endoscopy and are usually characterized by the typical pattern of gas bubbles in the wall of the intestine.

In literature, about 80% of Morgagni -Larrey hernia are found on the right side of the chest cavity and have usually a peritoneal sack. Only 2-3% of patients at birth are symptomatic and therefore eligible for urgent surgery.

The aim of this retrospective study is to establish if a risk stratification of choledocholithiasis can optimize the employment of technological resources and medical competence in the treatment of individual patients in a tailored way. Our personal experience has then been compared with international literature.

It is an uncommon neoplasm, usually asymptomatic with an unknown risk of malignant transformation. Due to difficulties in assessing the rare biological nature and the discrepancies in the reported cases, a consensus on the appropriate treatment has not been definitively reached.

In very distal tumours, complex procedures such as very low anterior resections and intersphincteric resections are used where possible. These procedures can avoid incapacitating operations such as abdominoperineal amputation.

In fact, laparoscopic technique reduces post-operative morbidity, hospital stay, the necessity of blood transfusions, post-operative pain and complications. We examined the data of patients who were operated by laparoscopic technique from April 2000 to April 2010.

It has been associated with a negative prognosis for a very long time, and the presence of portal pneumatosis is usually an indication for the need to perform a laparotomy. Patients And Methods: from January 2000 to December 2006, 97 patients who presented with acute abdomen were operated by laparoscopic approach in the Unit of Laparoscopic Surgery in the University of Chieti. Of these, 53 were females and 44 males.
Introduction: Aim of our study was to compare the results of the laparoscopic technique to those obtained by traditional open approach in patients with colon cancer. The advantages, disadvantages, and the contraindications (real and presumptive) of this mini-invasive approach are described, by comparing the data obtained from the international literature with our clinical experience.
Patients And Methods: From February 2000 to May 2006, we performed 73 laparoscopic colectomies for cancer in the Operative Unit of General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Department of Surgical Sciences of the University of Chieti, Italy.
A case of cecal anisakiasis is presented. Symptoms were compatible with appendicitis. The patient was operated and a perforated ulcer of the cecum was found.

Gastrointestinal Schistosomiasis and Amebiasis are uncommon in the western world, while such infections are frequent in the African community. In addition to the problems associated with the clinical symptoms of these parasitic infections, it is important to stress the increase in cancer of the Gastro-Intestinal (GI) tract. In this study we evaluate the prevalence of cancer in patients affected by chronic inflammatory diseases caused by the above named parasites.

Five patients were suffering from Parkinson's disease, 7 were carriers of diabetes, 2 had liver cirrosis.

The Authors present two cases of patients operated for small bowel tumor using a laparoscopic technique: the first case for a stromal tumor (GIST), the second case for an adenocarcinoma in advanced stage with multilobar lung metastases. The first patient is alive and disease free after one year, the second died after six months for tumor progression.

To identify and isolate the immunosuppressive substances produced by the fungus, the bioactivity of culture filtrates was assessed, and analyses of the culture filtrates were carried out. Culture filtrates from different strains of Aspergillus fumigatus were assessed for their effect on human polymorphonuclear leukocytes and murine macrophages.
