There is increasing awareness of the need to identify these people and protect their rights.

Methods: Retrospective audit of 8 years of Court-ordered health assessor reports addressing fitness to stand trial prepared by a New Zealand regional forensic mental health service with a catchment area of around 850,000.

Using a multiple-case study approach, we explored IPE across four United Kingdom (UK) Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to identify factors affecting IPE implementation and outcomes. For each site, educators involved with IPE were surveyed and interviewed to explore IPE implementation.

Insect attraction to artificial light can potentially facilitate disease transmission by increasing contact between humans and vectors. Previous research has identified specific wavelength bands, such as yellow and red, that are unattractive to biting flies. However, narrow-band, non-white lights are unsuitable for home lighting use as their very poor color rendering is often considered aesthetically undesirable.

In March 2020 mathematics became a key part of the scientific advice to the UK government on the pandemic response to COVID-19. Mathematical and statistical modelling provided critical information on the spread of the virus and the potential impact of different interventions. The unprecedented scale of the challenge led the epidemiological modelling community in the UK to be pushed to its limits.

Conservation of Allosteric Ligand Binding Sites in G-Protein Coupled Receptors.

Despite the growing number of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) structures, only 39 structures have been cocrystallized with allosteric inhibitors. These structures have been studied by protein mapping using the FTMap server, which determines the clustering of small organic probe molecules distributed on the protein surface. The method has found druggable sites overlapping with the cocrystallized allosteric ligands in 21 GPCR structures.

Mapping the binding sites of challenging drug targets.

An increasing number of medically important proteins are challenging drug targets because their binding sites are too shallow or too polar, are cryptic and thus not detectable without a bound ligand or located in a protein-protein interface. While such proteins may not bind druglike small molecules with sufficiently high affinity, they are frequently druggable using novel therapeutic modalities. Botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs) are extremely toxic and have been deemed a Tier 1 potential bioterrorism agent. The most potent and persistent of the BoNTs is the "A" serotype, with strategies to counter its etiology focused on designing small-molecule inhibitors of its light chain (LC), a zinc-dependent metalloprotease. The successful structure-based drug design of inhibitors has been confounded as the LC is highly flexible with significant morphological changes occurring upon inhibitor binding.

Exploring protein hotspots by optimized fragment pharmacophores.

Fragment-based drug design has introduced a bottom-up process for drug development, with improved sampling of chemical space and increased effectiveness in early drug discovery. Here, we combine the use of pharmacophores, the most general concept of representing drug-target interactions with the theory of protein hotspots, to develop a design protocol for fragment libraries. The SpotXplorer approach compiles small fragment libraries that maximize the coverage of experimentally confirmed binding pharmacophores at the most preferred hotspots.

Introduction: Exercise Unified Response, Europe's largest major incident training exercise to date, provided a rich environment for the emergency services to test their multi-agency crisis response capabilities. Supported by the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust, this service evaluation examined London Ambulance Service NHS Trust front line communication and decision-making via body-worn camera footage.
