Liposuction-Only Breast Reduction: A Systematic Review of Outcomes.

Introduction: Over the past few decades, there have been multiple reports of liposuction assisted breast reduction. This technique appeals to patients due to the limited scars and complication profile, compared to traditional reduction mammaplasty techniques. We aimed to systematically review the literature, to elucidate the outcomes and safety of liposuction-only breast reduction.

Lesson of the month 1: Case reports of arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies in military personnel.

In military recruits, sudden cardiac death rates have been reported as varying from 2 to 13 per 100,000 per year which are mostly related to exercise. However, the development of structural heart changes that may be associated with ventricular arrhythmias have not been reported among this cohort, despite them undergoing endurance training similar to athletes. Here, we report two cases where military personnel were found to have life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias associated with structural heart disease, highlighting the importance of early recognition and treatment of these arrhythmias.

Improving waiting times in the orthopaedic outpatient clinic.

Reducing waiting times for patients is a worthy goal for all healthcare professionals. The means and ability to carry out nerve conduction studies in the hand outpatient clinic has the potential to reduce waiting times between appointments for patients with upper limb neural compression. We assessed the pathway of patients presenting with upper limb neural compression in the Aneurin Bevan Trust.
