Background: The current annual incidence of cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is 3-4 cases per one million population. CVT manifests itself with varying degrees of clinical presentation that may cause vital or morbid consequences if not treated and managed promptly. Studies have suggested varied levels of CVT public awareness.

Vagal Nerve Stimulation in the Pediatric Population and Correlation between Family and Treatment Team Perspectives: Single-Center Experience.

Background:  Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) is an adjunctive therapy to pharmacologic treatment in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of VNS therapy for seizure frequency reduction and improving the quality-of-life (QOL) measures in children with refractory epilepsy and to evaluate the correlation between the perspectives of families and those of the treating team.

Methods:  This was a prospective cohort study conducted at Abha Maternity and Children's Hospital, Saudi Arabia, from 2018 to 2022.

Introduction: Chest x-rays are widely used for diagnosing chest pathology worldwide. Pediatricians frequently interpret chest radiographs in the emergency department, guiding patient management. This study aims to assess the competency of non-radiologists in interpreting emergency chest x-rays and compare it with trainees of different levels to determine the necessity of radiologist input.

Background: Microaggressions are subtle and often unintentional acts that can be verbal, nonverbal, or environmental, and they convey negative messages to individuals belonging to marginalized social groups. This study aims to determine the prevalence of microaggressions experienced by female Saudi orthopaedic surgeons.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted online and targeted female in orthopedic surgery across different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Objectives: Knowledge and attitude of health care professionals and medical students are crucial to promoting positive outcomes of organ donation. This study aimed to evaluate knowledge and attitudes of health care professionals and medical students on organ donation in Southern Saudi Arabia.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of consented tertiary hospital health care professionals (n = 200) (group A) and medical students (n = 200) (group B) in Southern Saudi Arabia from December 2022 to April 2023.

Introduction Multiple studies have demonstrated the multi-systemic involvement of COVID-19, and among all of these systems, there is mounting evidence that COVID-19 is linked to neurocognitive impairment, particularly when neurological symptoms are present. Our aim is to study the concept of cognitive dysfunction post-COVID-19 among college students in Saudi Arabia and its potential effect on their academic performance.  Methods A population-based, observational case-control study was conducted across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from May 2022 to September 2022.

Fat embolism syndrome is a rare but alarming, life-threatening clinical condition attributed to fat emboli entering the circulation. It usually occurs as a complication of long-bone fractures and joint reconstruction surgery. Neurological manifestations usually occur 12 to 72 hours after the initial insult.
