SMARCA4 Deficient Gastric Carcinoma With Squamous Differentiation in a Young Patient With Aggressive Clinical Course.

Inactivation of (BRG1), a subunit of SWI/SNF complex, has been reported in malignancies from various sites, including the thorax, uterus, ovary, and gastrointestinal tract, and is usually associated with aggressive clinical course. These tumors have been reported primarily in elderly patients and on histology demonstrate high-grade morphology, often with rhabdoid differentiation. SMARCA4 loss is exceedingly rare in primary gastric cancers.

The efficacy of vacuum-ultraviolet light disinfection of some common environmental pathogens.

Background: This study is to elucidate the disinfection effect of ozone producing low-pressure Hg vapor lamps against human pathogens. Ozone producing low-pressure Hg vapor lamps emit mainly 254 nm ultraviolet light C (UVC) with about 10% power of Vacuum-ultraviolet (VUV) light at 185 nm. The combination of UVC and VUV can inactivate airborne pathogens by disrupting the genetic materials or generation of reactive oxygen species, respectively.

A Photocatalytic Rotating Disc Reactor with TiO₂ Nanowire Arrays Deposited for Industrial Wastewater Treatment.

A photocatalytic rotating disc reactor (PRD-reactor) with TiO₂ nanowire arrays deposited on a thin Ti plate is fabricated and tested for industrial wastewater treatment. Results indicate that the PRD-reactor shows excellent decolorization capability when tested with methyl orange (>97.5%).
