Enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL), an uncommon lymphoma of intestinal intraepithelial T lymphocytes, occurs with a higher frequency in northern Europe due to association with celiac disease. Article Synopsis
  • Primary hepatolithiasis (HL) is a disease mostly found in East Asia, characterized by specific pathological changes like pigmented calcium bilirubinate stones in dilated intrahepatic bile ducts, leading to chronic inflammation.
  • The condition can lead to serious complications such as sclerosing cholangitis, inflammatory pseudotumors, and even cancers like cholangiocarcinoma.
  • Factors like bacterial infections and changing diets have impacted the occurrence of pigment stones, with a trend towards cholesterol stones which are generally easier to treat with stone dissolution therapy.

Unlabelled: Recently, controversies have arisen about whether hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) seroconversion can result in regression of fibrosis, thus improving the clinical outcome of Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis B. In this study, we determined if spontaneous HBeAg seroconversion is associated with regression of fibrosis in Chinese chronic hepatitis B patients. We evaluated the histology of liver samples from 128 HBeAg-positive treatment-naive Chinese patients who had undergone 2 liver biopsies over the years.
