Randomized control trial outcomes of tranexamic acid combination serum as a depigmenting agent for the use in healthy individuals.

To compare the effectiveness of tranexamic acid (TA) combination serum with hydroquinone, the gold standard in whitening agents for healthy populations. This was a three-arm randomized controlled trial. The subjects were divided into three groups: the first group received 3% TA combination serum (3% TA, 4% galactomyces ferment filtrate, 2% niacinamide, and 4% alpha arbutin), the second group received 2% TA combination serum, and the third group received 4% hydroquinone.

Fat embolism in right internal jugular vein: incidental ultrasound finding during internal jugular vein cannulation.

Background: We report a case study of fat embolism seen on ultrasound at right internal jugular vein during central venous cannulation in a patient diagnosed with fat embolism syndrome. This case demonstrates the importance of ultrasound for evaluation of trauma cases with suspicion of fat embolism.

In continuation of our research program aiming at developing new potent antimicrobial agents, new series of substituted 3,4-dihydrothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidines was synthesized. The newly synthesized compounds were preliminary tested for their in vitro activity against six bacterial and three fungal strains using the agar diffusion technique. The results revealed that compounds 7, 8a, 10b, 10d and 11b exhibited half the potency of levofloxacine against the Gram-negative bacterium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, while compounds 5a, 8b, 10c and 12 displayed half the potency of levofloxacine against Proteus Vulgaris.

A new series of 5-(3,5-dinitrophenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives were prepared and evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial, antitumor, and DHFR inhibition activity. Compounds , , , and showed strong and broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity comparable to Amoxicillin and Fluconazole as positive antibiotic and antifungal controls, respectively. Compounds , , and exhibited antitumor activity against four human cancer cell lines, CCRF-CEM leukemia, HCT-15 colon, PC-3 prostate, and UACC-257 melanoma cell lines using Doxorubicin as a reference drug.

Aim: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the imaging investigation of choice in vertebral collapse. In this study, we considered various MRI features and appearance based on morphological features, signal intensity, contrast enhancement characteristics, and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of various types of non-traumatic vertebral collapse for differentiating benign from malignant causes and its role in differentiating cases of infectious causes of vertebral collapse from malignant causes.

Stress is thought to impair immune function through emotional or behavioral manifestations thus the present study was done to assessed the effect of ethanolic extract of Butea frondosa (BF) leaves on behaviour, immunomodulatory activity and brain acetyl cholinesterase activity in normal and stress induced male rats. Neuroprotective effects of BF, doses (100,200,400mg/kg p.o) were measured by assessing the changes in the behaviour and the immunity of the rats.
