Background The Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) V617F mutations are related to increased thrombotic risk in patients with myeloproliferative disorders (MPDs). However, little is known about whether inherited thrombophilia represents an additive risk factor in mutated subjects. We addressed the association between combined mutations of JAK2 and factor V Leiden (FVL) and thrombotic complications in Saudi Arabian patients with MPDs.

Effective and engaging E-learning becomes necessary in unusual conditions such as COVID-19 pandemic, especially for the early stages of K-12 education. This paper proposes an adaptive personalized E-learning platform with a novel combination of Visual/Aural/Read, Write/Kinesthetic (VARK) presentation or gamification and exercises difficulty scaffolding through skipping/hiding/ reattempting. Cognitive, behavior and affective adaptation means are included in developing a dynamic learner model, which detects and corrects each student's learning style and cognitive level.

The spread of epidemics and diseases is known to exhibit chaotic dynamics; a fact confirmed by many developed mathematical models. However, to the best of our knowledge, no attempt to realize any of these chaotic models in analog or digital electronic form has been reported in the literature. In this work, we report on the efficient FPGA implementations of three different virus spreading models and one disease progress model.
