Aim: This study aimed to describe self-assessed clinical gerontological nursing competence and its associated factors among licensed practical nurses.
Design: A descriptive cross-sectional design was adopted for the study.
Methods: Data were collected in Autumn 2023 from 394 licensed practical nurses working in healthcare services for older people in one well-being services county in Finland.
Protein cross-linking has assumed an irreplaceable role in structural proteomics. Recently, significant efforts have been made to develop novel mass spectrometry (MS)-cleavable reagents. At present, only water-insoluble MS-cleavable cross-linkers are commercially available.

The primary concern revolved around infection during pregnancy due to possible vertical transmission and its association with adverse fetal and infant outcomes, known as Congenital Zika Syndrome (CZS). This qualitative study employs phenomenology and grounded theory.

We tested 1176 Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates among clients attending the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre in 2021 and 2022. The prevalence of cefixime resistance was 6.

Near-to-patient testing (NPT) can improve pathogen-specific prescribing and reduce unnecessary or inappropriate antibiotic use in treating sexually transmitted infections (STI) by providing same-day delivery of results and treatment.
Methods: We compared the economic cost of NPT to current clinic practice for managing clients with suspected proctitis, non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), or as an STI contact, from a health provider's perspective.
A novel species, , has been identified in the Bucegi Natural Park ROSCI0013, located in the Southern Carpathians of Central Romania. Two moderately sized populations of , totalling 120-140 individuals, were discovered inhabiting the alpine grasslands of the park, situated 2.000 m above sea level.

Melanocytic nevi and primary cutaneous melanomas were immunohistochemically stained for tubulin-β-3 and 5-hmC. Immunoreactivity and staining patterns were correlated with Breslow-thickness, clinical and pathological characteristics, and progression-free survival.

Based on the theoretical construct of vaccine hesitancy, a qualitative study was conducted with 86 primary health care (PHC) workers in four municipalities in four Brazilian states and in the Federal District. A thematic analysis was performed and three categories were obtained: fear, misinformation about vaccines, and the role of health professionals.

Methods: Clients attending with non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), proctitis, as STI-contacts, or for an MG-test-of-cure (MG-TOC) between March and December 2021 were recruited.
Purpose: This paper reports on the first evaluation of infertility counselling in Germany.
Methods: Sixty-nine infertility counsellors provided feedback via 524 survey sheets and 182 questionnaires were filled in by clients.
Results: The results show a high level of satisfaction on behalf of the clients.
(1) Background: Chronic inflammation and suboptimal immune responses to vaccinations are considered to be aspects of immune dysregulation in patients that are undergoing dialysis. The present study aimed to evaluate immune responses in hemodialysis (HD) and online hemodiafiltration (OL-HDF) patients to a seasonal inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine (IQIV). (2) Methods: We enrolled 172 chronic dialysis patients (87 on HD and 85 on OL-HDF) and 18 control subjects without chronic kidney disease in a prospective, cross-sectional cohort study.

Three medium-sized populations of (65-70 individuals in total) were discovered in the south-eastern, subalpine area of the park. To properly describe and distinguish the newly found taxon from other Romanian , 37 morphological characters were measured directly from living plants and flowers.

The objective of this investigation is to determine the optimal settings for a 3D printer made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) in terms of its conflicting responses (flexural strength (FS), tensile strength (TS), average surface roughness (Ra), print time (T), and energy consumption (E)). Layer thickness (LT), printing speed (PS), and infill density (ID) are all quantifiable characteristics that were chosen.

Although cerebral palsy (CP) is the commonest physical disability in children, its impact at population level has not been systematically measured so far.
Objectives: We aimed to propose six PHIs for CP designed to annually document the extent of CP and effectiveness of perinatal organisation, the burden of this condition, access to health services and preventive health strategies in the post-neonatal period and to report on the latest updated estimations using population-based data routinely collected by European CP registries.
Trichomonas vaginalis is the most prevalent, non-viral sexually transmitted human infection, causing 170 million cases of trichomoniasis annually. Since the 1950s, treatment has relied on 5-nitroimidazoles (5NIs), leading to increasing drug resistance. A similar drug resistance problem is present in the veterinary pathogen, Tritrichomonas foetus.

Using a qualitative descriptive design, this study aimed to explore and describe the experiences of midwives providing culturally competent care to women receiving maternal care within overburdened public hospitals. Purposive sampling of thirty-four (n = 34) midwives employed to provide maternal care (antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum) at five public hospitals in the North West Province of South Africa was done.

The spread of the infection from the paranasal sinuses affects, most often, the orbit, patients presenting diplopia, preseptal cellulitis, orbital cellulitis, or even blindness alongside exteriorization of puss from the middle meatus and nasal obstruction.
Materials And Methods: We carried out a retrospective review of 32 patients that were diagnosed in our clinic with complicated rhinosinusitis from 2015 to 2022.

Background: An intrapericardial organized haematoma secondary to chronic type A aortic dissection is an extremely rare cause of right heart failure. Imaging studies are essential in recognising and diagnosis of this distinctive medical condition and guiding the anticipated treatment.
Case Presentation: A 70-year-old male patient was admitted for progressive symptoms of right heart failure.
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) in individuals younger than 40 years has a heritable cause in a significant part of the cases. Identification of SCD, post mortem genetic analysis along with the cardiological screening examination in first degree represents an important diagnostic tool for the primary prevention of cardiac arrest in victim´s relatives and requires multicentric and multidisciplinary collaboration. Between 2016 and 2021 the complex cardiogenetic analysis was performed in 115 deaths with post mortem diagnosis of cardiomyopathy, acute aortic dissection and cases without morphological finding explaining the cause of death (sudden arrhythmic death or sudden unexplained death).

Prior studies in other male dominated industries have shown using masculine or feminine-coded language in job advertisements affects the proportion of male versus female applicants who choose to apply for those jobs. The goal of this study was to determine if gender-coding exists in EM job advertisements, and to see if there were differences between academic vs.

Methods: From March 2015 to February 2018, MSM with rectal were not routinely tested for LGV at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre unless they had HIV or symptoms of proctitis.
