Aim: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of autogenous onlay and inlay grafts for anterior maxillary horizontal ridge augmentation.

Materials And Methods: This randomized clinical trial was performed on 14 patients with a deficient partially edentulous anterior maxillary ridge (3-5 mm in width). Patients were randomized and grouped into two equal groups: Group A was treated with symphyseal autogenous bone block, which was placed and fixed buccally as an onlay graft, and group B: was treated with symphyseal autogenous bone block, which was interpositioned and fixed in space created between buccal and lingual cortex as inlay graft.

Statement Of Problem: Patients needing dental rehabilitation of a complete atrophic maxilla would benefit from simplified treatment plans.

Purpose: The purpose of this case series was to demonstrate the prosthetic management of 4 edentulous patients with severe maxillary ridge resorption who declined multiple stage surgery and sought a fixed prosthesis in single-stage surgery.

Material And Methods: The patients were provided with completely digital computer-aided designed and computer-aided manufactured (CAD-CAM) polyetheretherketone (PEEK) maxillary subperiosteal frameworks, which were surgically placed in a 1-step procedure.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to assess how different depths of dental implant penetration into the maxillary sinus cavity affect implant and sinus health in dogs, using a sample of four female dogs with eight titanium implants.
  • - After five months, all groups showed no inflammation, with the 1 mm protrusion group having full bone coverage, the 2 mm group partially covered, and the 3 mm group showing no bone formation or communication with the sinus cavity.
  • - The conclusion suggests that even with varying depths of penetration into the sinus, the implants did not negatively impact sinus health or stability in the canine model.

Background: Atraumatic dental extraction preserves bone, gingival architecture, and allows for the option of future or immediate dental implant placement. A number of tools and techniques have been proposed for minimally invasive tooth removal such as physics forceps. The biomechanical design of physics forceps decreases the incidence of root fracture, and maintains the buccal bone plate, which is essential for the proper healing of an immediately placed dental implant.

Background: Alloplastic materials such as tantalum, gold plates and foils, hydroxyapatite blocks have been used for closure of oroantral fistula (OAF). However, these materials are not widely accepted in routine surgical closure of OAF due to cost, difficult handling, increased rate of infection, and exfoliation.

Purpose: To overcome the above drawbacks this study aimed to use titanium plates (0.
