Of 403 patients with renal and ureteric calculi treated during the last 4 years, 64 presented with features of chronic renal insufficiency: 59 of these underwent surgery. Good pre-operative preparation and conservative renal surgery restored normal renal function in 14 patients and 27 improved significantly. The remainder either did not improve or continued to have progressive renal failure.

Gonorrhoea constitutes nine per cent of the sexually transmitted diseases seen at the department of Dermatology and Venereology, Nair Hospital, Bombay. Fifty cases of uncomplicated males were treated with doxycycline 200mgs iv on the first day and 100 mgs, iv for 2 more - a total of 400 mgs doxycycline. Smears for gonococci and blood V D R L were treatment.
