Introduction: Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) has been found to be an effective and safe modality with excellent oncological outcome in medically inoperable primary renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and oligometastases. There is scarcity of data on the synchronous delivery of SBRT to primary and oligometastatic RCC in patients unfit for nephrectomy. Here, we report the findings of a retrospective study of prospectively collected data on "total ablative SBRT.

Article Synopsis
  • The review compares the prevalence of dental caries in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) versus bilateral cleft lip and palate (BCLP), finding a significant difference in caries experience between the two groups.
  • Using data from three studies, the analysis utilized the decayed-missing-filled teeth (DMFT) index for permanent teeth and the dmft index for primary teeth, revealing BCLP patients have a higher prevalence of caries.
  • The study concludes that BCLP patients are at a greater risk for dental caries than UCLP patients in both their primary and permanent dentition.

This single-center, open-label, non-randomized, two-part, phase I study was conducted (1) to evaluate the absolute oral bioavailability of rilzabrutinib 400 mg tablet following an i.v. microtracer dose of ~100 μg [14C]-rilzabrutinib (~1 μCi) and single oral dose of 400 mg rilzabrutinib tablet (part 1), and (2) to characterize the absorption, metabolism, and excretion (AME) of 14C-radiolabeled rilzabrutinib following single oral dose (300 mg) of [14C]-rilzabrutinib (~1000 μCi; administered as a liquid) in healthy male participants (part 2).

Background: Inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) is known to have a lower success rate for anesthesia in patients with irreversible pulpitis. This calls for supplementary techniques to effectively anesthetize such patients. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the published literature for determining the success rate of anesthesia induction using post-IANB intraligamentary (IL) injection in the mandibular teeth of patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.

The expression of Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) in B cells and innate immune cells provides essential downstream signaling for BCR, Fc receptors, and other innate immune cell pathways. The topical covalent BTK inhibitor PRN473 has shown durable, reversible BTK occupancy with rapid on-rate and slow off-rate binding kinetics and long residence time, resulting in prolonged, localized efficacy with low systemic exposure in vivo. Mechanisms of PRN473 include inhibition of IgE (FcεR)-mediated activation of mast cells and basophils, IgG (FcγR)-mediated activation of monocytes, and neutrophil migration.

Background: The anthracycline and taxane-based chemotherapy treatment regimen remains the gold standard for treatment of early stage breast cancer. However, studies examining the effectiveness and use of this treatment regimen in Indian context are limited. This study examined patients treated with anthracycline and taxane-based chemotherapy at a tertiary care cancer center in India.

-mutation associated breast cancer and to future cancer risks and sensitivity to systemic therapies. Now that rapid genetic testing for and mutations is available, mutation status can be considered when making treatment and prevention decisions for testing, mutation carriers with breast cancer. Expert group used data from published literature, practical experience, and opinion of a large group of academic oncologists, to arrive at practical consensus recommendations for use by the community oncologists.

Over-expression of HER2 is generally considered to be a negative prognostic feature because it accompanies an increase in breast cancer mortality. However, the development of agents that specifically target HER2 has improved the management of patients with these tumours. This expert group used data from published literature, practical experience and opinion of a large group of academic oncologists to arrive at these practical consensus recommendations with regards to the use of these agents and the management of HER2 neu early breast cancer for the benefit of community oncologists.

The presence of an apicomarginal defect is one of the reasons for the failure of endodontic treatment. The best treatment option to treat an apicomarginal defect is to perform endodontic surgery using Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) membranes. The present case report evaluated the healing of periapical lesion along with apicomarginal defect using Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) as membrane in periapical surgery of mandibular first molar.

Background: Mandibular first molars typically have two roots but sometimes a supernumerary root presents distolingually called as radix entomolaris (RE).

Aim: The present study evaluated the prevalence of permanent mandibular first molars featuring a distolingual root in Haryana (North India).

Materials And Methods: Five hundred patients possessing bilateral mandibular first molars were selected for this study.

Trauma to primary tooth leads to abnormal variations in crown and root canals of permanent teeth that presents a challenge in diagnosis and clinical management to the practitioner. This article presents a detailed case report of the endodontic treatment of a three canalled maxillary central incisor and maxillary lateral incisor having single canal with open apex linked with periodontal defect. Root canals were prepared with hand files and canals were irrigated with 2.

Background: The present study aimed to evaluate the intracanal bacterial reduction promoted by chemomechanical preparation using three different herbal extracts named Ocimum sanctum (OS), Cinnamomum zeylanicum (CZ), Syzygium aromaticum (SA) against Enterococcus faecalis.

Material And Methods: Root canals from extracted teeth were contaminated with Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 for 7 days and then randomly distributed into 3 experimental groups of 10 teeth each: which includes conventional irrigation with OS, CZ and SA. The control groups included 5 teeth each consisting of NaOCl (positive control) and distilled water (negative control).

Objectives: The objective was to assess the shear bond strength (SBS) of composite resins on stainless steel brackets immediately bonded to previously bleached teeth with 35% hydrogen peroxide and to compare the neutralization effect of various antioxidant agents on the bond strength after bleaching.

Materials And Methods: One hundred sound human maxillary premolars were used for the study. Teeth were divided into 5 groups (n = 20); Group 1 (control), Group 2 (bleach treatment), Group 3 (sodium ascorbate treatment), Group 4 (tocopherol acetate treatment), and Group 5 (retinol acetate treatment).

The present study aimed to develop and optimize a nanoemulsifying preconcentrate formulation of curcumin with good emulsification ability and optimal globule size, for controlled targeting in colon. Content of formulation variables, namely, X1 (Peceol), X2 (Cremophor-EL), and X3 (Transcutol HP), were optimized by Box-Behnken design of experiments for its impact on mean globule size (Y1), emulsification time (Y2), and time required for drug release (85%) in phosphate buffer (pH 7.2), t 85% (Y3).

Context: Ergonomics is the scientific study of people and their work. The manufacturers typically do not design to accommodate the dimensions of the individual user. Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) have emerged as major health problem among workers in both industrialized and industrially developing countries.

The purpose of the present study was to formulate polymeric self-emulsifying curcumin nanocapsules with high encapsulation efficiency, good emulsification ability, and optimal globule size for localized targeting in the colon. Formulations were prepared using modified quasiemulsion solvent diffusion method. Concentration of formulation variables, namely, X1 (oil), X2 (polymeric emulsifier), and X3 (adsorbent), was optimized by design of experiments using Box-Behnken design, for its impact on mean globule size (Y1) and encapsulation efficiency (Y2) of the formulation.
