Objective: There is an increase in the application data of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) in perinatal women, particularly since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019. Therefore, we reviewed publications on the use of ECMO in pregnant and postpartum women and analyzed the maternal and fetal outcomes, updated the progress of ECMO in perinatal women.

Methods: We conducted a systematic literature search across PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and the International Clinical Trials Registry (ICTRP), yielding 30 eligible clinical studies that investigated the application of ECMO during pregnancy.

Background: Intracranial aneurysms (IAs) are pathological dilations occurring at major branch points of cerebral arteries, which can lead to aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) upon rupture. Recent studies have identified developmental endothelial locus-1 (DEL1) as closely associated with IA, though its role remains not fully understood. This study aimed to investigate serum DEL1 level differences in IA patients and explore its function in vascular endothelial cells.

Sequential recommendation models aim to predict the next item based on the sequence of items users interact with, ordered chronologically. However, these models face the challenge of data sparsity. Recent studies have explored cross-domain sequential recommendation, where users' interaction data across multiple source domains are leveraged to enhance recommendations in data-sparse target domains.

We reveal a new scenario for the transition of solitons to chaos in a mode-locked fiber laser: the modulated subharmonic route. Its universality is confirmed in two different laser configurations, namely, a figure-of-eight and a ring laser. Numerical simulations of the laser models agree well with the experiments.

Using the e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, at center-of-mass energies from the threshold to 4.95 GeV, we present precise measurements of the cross section for the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} using a single-tag method. The resulting cross section line shape exhibits several new structures, thereby offering an input for a future coupled-channel analysis and model tests, which are critical to understand vector charmonium-like states with masses between 4 and 5 GeV.

Z boson events at the Large Hadron Collider can be selected with high purity and are sensitive to a diverse range of QCD phenomena. As a result, these events are often used to probe the nature of the strong force, improve Monte Carlo event generators, and search for deviations from standard model predictions. All previous measurements of Z boson production characterize the event properties using a small number of observables and present the results as differential cross sections in predetermined bins.

This work researched the influence and mechanism of CD155 on hepatocellular carcinoma advancement. CD155 expression and its effect on survival of hepatocellular carcinoma patients were analyzed based on the GEPIA2 database. String software predicted the interacting between CD155 and CD96, which was further verified by co-immunoprecipitation experiment.

PD-L1/PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors (CPIs) are mainstream agents for cancer immunotherapy, but the prognosis is unsatisfactory in solid tumor patients lacking preexisting T-cell reactivity. Adjunct therapy strategies including the intratumoral administration of immunostimulants aim to address this limitation. CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs), TLR9 agonists that can potentiate adaptive immunity, have been widely investigated to tackle PD-L1/PD-1 resistance, but clinical success has been hindered by inconsistent efficacy and immune-related toxicities caused by systemic exposure.

Nonunion is a significant complication in fracture management for surgeons. Salvianolic acid A (SAA), derived from the traditional Chinese plant Salviae miltiorrhizae Bunge (Danshen), exhibits notable anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Although studies have demonstrated its ability to promote osteogenic differentiation, the exact mechanism of action remains unclear.

Objective: Homologous recombination deficiency assays, guiding treatment of poly (adenosine diphosphate ribose) polymerase inhibitors, are increasingly applied in clinics. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive performance of homologous recombination deficiency status at genomic and functional perspective on the efficacy of platinum-based chemotherapy in ovarian cancer.

Methods: Between 2016 and 2019, 134 patients with high-grade ovarian cancer were retrospectively analyzed.

Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is an indispensable technique in cardiac surgery; however, its impact on gut microbiota and metabolites remains insufficiently studied. CPB may disrupt the intestinal mucosal barrier, altering the composition and function of gut microbiota, thereby triggering local immune responses and systemic inflammation, which may lead to postoperative complications. This narrative review examines relevant literature from PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and CNKI databases over the past decade.

Article Synopsis
  • Hypomanic personality traits (HPT) are linked to higher risk for psychiatric disorders like bipolar disorder and are associated with aggressive behaviors, yet the underlying neuropsychological mechanisms are not fully understood.
  • The study used psychometric network analysis to identify key factors (Behavioral Inhibition System and mood volatility) that connect HPT to aggression, finding that mood volatility positively correlates with aggression, with BIS acting as a mediator.
  • Further imaging studies revealed distinct functions of the dorsal and ventral sensorimotor cortices in processing rewards, and resting-state imaging confirmed these regions' connections to different brain networks, highlighting the importance of these circuits in mediating the relationship between mood volatility, aggression, and BIS.

Accurate building segmentation has become critical in various fields such as urban management, urban planning, mapping, and navigation. With the increasing diversity in the number, size, and shape of buildings, convolutional neural networks have been used to segment and extract buildings from such images, resulting in increased efficiency and utilization of image features. We propose a building semantic segmentation method to improve the traditional Unet convolutional neural network by integrating attention mechanism and boundary detection.

Microrobots enhance contact with pollutants through their movement and flow-induced mixing, substantially improving wastewater treatment efficiency beyond traditional diffusion-limited methods. g-CN is an affordable and environmentally friendly photocatalyst that has been extensively researched in various fields such as biomedicine and environmental remediation. However, compared to other photocatalytic materials like TiO and ZnO, which are widely used in the fabrication of micro- and nanorobots, research on g-CN for these applications is still in its early stages.

Background: Neoadjuvant, endocrine, and targeted therapies have significantly improved the prognosis of breast cancer (BC). However, due to the high heterogeneity of cancer, some patients cannot benefit from existing treatments. Increasing evidence suggests that amino acids and their metabolites can alter the tumor malignant behavior through reshaping tumor microenvironment and regulation of immune cell function.

Background: Different doses of radiotherapy (RT) exert diverse effects on tumor immunity, although the precise irradiation method remains unknown. This study sought to elucidate the influence of combining different doses of RT with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) on the infiltration of CD8T cells within tumors, thereby augmenting the anti-tumor response.

Methods: Constructing a mouse model featuring bilateral lung cancer tumors subjected to high and low dose irradiation, the analysis of RNA transcriptome sequencing data and immunohistochemical validation for tumors exposed to various dosages guided the selection of the optimal low-dose irradiation scheme.

Over the past decades, various methods have been proposed to estimate daily milk yields from partial yields. Many of these methods divide milking interval time into varied classes, assuming that the yield correction factors are constant within classes but vary between classes. The DeLorenzo and Wiggans (D-W) method has been widely used in the United States, typically following a 2-step process.
