Objective: To investigate the effect of different isoforms of on the proliferation of multiple myeloma (MM) cells after alternative splicing mediated by splicing factor .
Methods: RT-PCR was used to detect the expression levels of mRNA splicing isoforms regulated by . The GEO database was used to analyze the changes of isoform 1 in the progression of plasma cell disease, and survival analysis was used to evaluate the value of this gene in the prognosis of MM patients.
Introduction: The development of extended-spectrum-beta-lactamase (ESBLs) () has become a global threat to public health. An alternative strategy to alleviate this is identifying potential natural compounds to restore antibiotic activity against ESBLs . This study aimed to find a possible compound to restore ESBLs sensitivity to ceftiofur.

Aim: Normal tension glaucoma (NTG) is a common optic neuropathy that can be challenging to diagnose due to the intraocular pressure remaining within the normal range. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for the effective lifelong management of patients.
Methods: This study recruited a total of 225 participants.
A cascade cyclization reaction comprising two halogenation reactions and a Michael addition was developed for the synthesis of chromeno[2,3-]pyrrole-3-ones . Additionally, another cascade cyclization reaction, which involves a halogenation reaction followed by two intramolecular Michael additions, was established for the synthesis of chromeno[2,3-]pyrrole-2-ones . Both types of compounds were synthesized from -hydroxyphenyl enaminones and 2-halo--alkyloxyacetamides through a process that facilitated the intramolecular formation of C-C, C-O, and C-N bonds to effectively establish two fused rings in a single operation.

Piezoelectric materials are commonly utilized as transducers because of their ability to produce high output power density and their simple structure, but they are prone to material fracture under large deformation conditions. This paper proposes a magnetic boundary modulated stepped beam wind energy harvesting system.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the revised hemodynamic definition on the diagnosis of PH.

Hydrogen (H) is a clean and environmentally friendly energy carrier. The depletion of fossil fuels makes renewable H production highly desirable. Water reforming of renewable biomass to hydrogen, with a relay of natural photosynthesis to biomass, would be an indirect pathway to realize the ideal but extremely challenging photocatalytic overall water splitting to hydrogen, with favorable thermodynamics.

Fifty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly allocated into five groups: Normal, Model, Acup + Quantum, Acup, and Quantum. Hyperlipidemic models were established in all groups except Normal.

The identification and treatment of PCs remain a significant challenge, with limited research on surgical management. Methods We performed a retrospective study of patients with PCs who underwent surgical intervention at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from February 2002 to December 2022.

Since irreversible neurodegeneration occurs before diagnosable, early diagnosis and effective neuroprotection are critical for glaucoma management. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are demonstrated to be potential novel biomarkers and therapeutics for a variety of diseases.

Our Gene Ontology analysis revealed that "extracellular matrix organization" ranked high in the biological process category, and matrix metallopeptidases (MMPs) and other proteases also played important roles in it. Moreover, compared with those in the normoxia group, we confirmed that MMPs expression was upregulated in the hypoxia group, while the hub gene Timp1 was downregulated.

In this study, a novel metal-organic framework (MOF) adsorbent named CdK--COTTTB was developed. This MOF material was constructed using sulfur-rich -cyclooctatetrathiophene-tetrabenzoate (-HCOTTTB) as the organic ligand and oxygen-rich bimetallic clusters as the inorganic nodes.

DON, as a virulence factor, is crucial for the spread of FHB pathogens on plants. However, germplasm resources that are naturally resistant to DON and DON-producing FHB pathogens are inadequate in plants.

Aquatic organisms that feed on harmful algae can accumulate algal toxins in their bodies, and the consumption of these organisms by humans can cause symptoms of paralysis, diarrhea, and even death. The onset of poisoning can occur within as little as 30 min; in many cases, no suitable antidote for algal toxins is available.

However, few studies have focused on the correlation between the expression and prognosis of CD2AP in renal clear cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Therefore, we aimed to assess the regulation of CD2AP expression and prognostic value in ccRCC.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOptical grating devices based on micro/nanostructured functional surfaces are widely employed to precisely manipulate light propagation, which is significant for information technologies, optical data storage, and light sensors. However, the parameters of rigid periodic structures are difficult to tune after manufacturing, which seriously limits their capacity for in situ light manipulation. Here, a novel anti-eavesdropping, anti-damage, and anti-tamper dynamic optical encryption strategy are reported via tunable mechanical composite wrinkle micrograting encryption systems (MCWGES).

Review Methods: Systematic review and meta-analysis, randomized controlled trials assessing patients with acute and sub-acute low back pain were included.
This study aimed to clarify the role of la-related protein 1 (LARP1) in cell cycle progression and metastatic behavior of cultured gastric carcinoma (GC) cells. To do that, LARP1 expression was detected in clinical GC tissues and cell lines using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blotting. The cell viability, apoptosis, cell cycle, migration, invasion, and cell growth were examined using a Cell Counting Kit-8, Annexin V-FITC staining, propidium iodide staining, Transwell migration and invasion assays, and colony formation assays after LARP1 knockdown.

Thoracic aortic aneurysm/dissection (TAAD) is a lethal vascular disease, and several pathological factors participate in aortic medial degeneration. We previously discovered that the complement C3a-C3aR axis in smooth muscle cells promotes the development of thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) through regulation of matrix metalloproteinase 2. However, discerning the specific complement pathway that is activated and elucidating how inflammation of the aortic wall is initiated remain unknown.
