Background: The present study compares the anatomical and functional outcomes (best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central macular thickness (CMT)) among membrane peeling with or without SF6 tamponade in patients with epiretinal membrane.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients diagnosed with macular pucker who underwent pars plana vitrectomy and membrane peeling in a tertiary center in Taiwan from January 2021 to December 2022. Subjects were categorized into with or without SF6 tamponade groups (SF6 group and BSS group).
Background: The management of asymptomatic cervical polyps has long been debated due to the scarcity of literature and guidelines regarding the need for polypectomy. While the majority of cervical polyps are diagnosed incidentally by GPs during routine cervical smears, there are no clear recommendations on referral pathways for further histological investigations.
Aim: To investigate the need for polypectomy in women presenting with asymptomatic polyps.
Background/aim: Following the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines, radiotherapy is administered after breast-conserving surgery (BCS) in patients with more than four positive lymph nodes. Four positive lymph nodes are typically considered an indicator to assess disease spread and patient prognosis. However, the subjective counting of positive axillary lymph nodes underscores the need for biomarkers to improve diagnostic precision and reduce the risk of unnecessary treatments.

Combined with the clinical electrical stimulation therapy, the conductive hydrogel primarily showed curative effects of promoting granulation tissue formation, re-epithelialization, and wound healing, providing a new treatment idea for the repair of diabetic wounds. This review summarized the research advances of electronic conductive hydrogels and ionic conductive hydrogels in recent years based on different conductive mechanisms.

Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) is also rare and intracranial RDD complicated by MALT lymphoma is even rarer. The present study reports a case of a 55-year-old female who was admitted to The Second Affiliated Hospital of Jiaxing University (Jiaxing, China) with headache for half a month and ptosis of the right eyelid for 4 days.

Their attempts to do so may result in adverse consequences such as peritonitis. PD exchange is a complex procedure demanding knowledge and skill which requires close supervision and guidance by a renal nurse specialist.

Autoimmune disease is a disease caused by the body's immune system being misdirected to attack the host itself. Patients with this type of diseases are in poor general condition, and are affected by vascular and skin tissue lesions, and therapeutic drugs. Once the skin is broken, chronic wounds that do not heal could easily develop.

In this study, two nutritional supplements, namely gamma-tocotrienol (γT3) and were evaluated for their immune-enhancing and anticancer effects in a syngeneic mouse model of breast cancer (BC). Five-week-old female BALB/c mice were fed , γT3, or a combination of and γT3 ( + γT3) for 56 days.

Methods: Diabetes data were derived from the Malaysian National Health and Morbidity Surveys conducted in 2006, 2011 and 2015. The air pollution data (NO, NO, SO, O and PM) were obtained from the Department of Environment Malaysia.
Background: In past magnetic resonance imaging studies, normal participants and schizophrenia patients have usually been compared using imaging processing modes with only one parameter. A more extensive evaluation of significant differences between gray and white matter in Schizophrenic patents was necessary.
Methods: Voxel based morphometry was used to separate brain images into gray matter and white matter.
In this study, a set of methods for the inspection of a working motor in real time was proposed. The aim was to determine if ball-bearing operation is normal or abnormal and to conduct an inspection in real time. The system consists of motor control and measurement systems.
