Images are extensively utilized in educational materials due to their efficacy in conveying complex concepts. However, unauthorized use of images frequently results in legal issues related to copyright infringement. To mitigate this problem, we introduce a dual-module system specifically designed for educators.

A search for the exclusive hadronic decays W^{±}→π^{±}γ, W^{±}→K^{±}γ, and W^{±}→ρ^{±}γ is performed using up to 140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions recorded with the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13  TeV. If observed, these rare processes would provide a unique test bench for the quantum chromodynamics factorization formalism used to calculate cross sections at colliders. Additionally, at future colliders, these decays could offer a new way to measure the W boson mass through fully reconstructed decay products.

Changes in mitochondrial dynamics are often associated with dietary patterns, medical treatments, xenobiotics, and diseases. Toxic exposures to hydrogen sulfide (HS) harm mitochondria by inhibiting Complex IV and via other mechanisms. However, changes in mitochondrial dynamics, including morphology following acute exposure to HS, are not yet fully understood.

Objective: To determine the clinical phenotypes associated with the β-amyloid PET and dopamine transporter imaging (I-FP-CIT SPECT) findings in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with the core clinical features of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB; MCI-LB).

Methods: Patients with MCI who had at least 1 core clinical feature of DLB (n = 34) were grouped into β-amyloid A+ or A- and I-FP-CIT SPECT D+ or D- groups based on previously established abnormality cut points for A+ with Pittsburgh compound B PET standardized uptake value ratio (PiB SUVR) ≥1.48 and D+ with putamen score with DaTQUANT <-0.

Atogepant is a potent, selective, oral calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonist in development for migraine prevention. The chemical structure of atogepant is distinct from previous CGRP receptor antagonists, which were associated with elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in clinical trials. Here, we report the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PKs) of a once-daily supratherapeutic dose (170 mg) of atogepant for 28 days from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase I trial in healthy participants.

Mitochondrial metabolism plays an essential role in various biological processes of cancer cells. Herein, we established an experimental procedure for the metabolic assessment of mitochondria in cancer cells. We examined procedures for mitochondrial isolation coupled with various mitochondrial extraction buffers in three major cancer cell lines (PANC1, A549, and MDA-MB-231) and identified a potentially optimal and generalized approach.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare super-resolution ultrasound (US) with contrast-enhanced US in detecting the spoke wheel sign, a characteristic of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH), by assessing tumor vascular patterns.
  • A total of 62 patients diagnosed with FNH underwent both imaging techniques on the same day, and radiologists scored their confidence in identifying the spoke wheel sign using a four-point scale.
  • Results indicated no significant difference in confidence scores between the two methods, with both showing a good level of agreement among radiologists, suggesting super-resolution US may be a viable alternative to contrast-enhanced US for diagnosing FNH.

Purpose To identify whether arterial enhancement pattern at MRI could predict the prognosis after surgical resection of intrahepatic mass-forming cholangiocarcinoma (IMCC). Materials and Methods Patients who underwent curative hepatic resection and preoperative MRI for IMCC from November 2007 to September 2016 were retrospectively evaluated. MRI enhancement pattern was classified by two radiologists.

Objective: It is not easy to diagnose bipolar disorders accurately in the clinical setting. Although Korean version of the Mood Disorder Questionnaire (K-MDQ) is easily administered, it still has weakness regarding case finding. In this study, we suggest a new weighted version of the K-MDQ to increase its screening power.

Cu-In-Te ternary chalcogenides have unique crystal and band structures; hence they have received much attention in thermoelectrics. In this work we have observed an enhancement in Hall carrier concentration ( ) and ultralow lattice thermal conductivity ( ) when Cu was added to ternary Cu InTe ( = 0-0.15) compounds.

Background: Patients with obstructive (≥50% stenosis) left main (LM) coronary artery disease (CAD) are at high risk for adverse events; prior studies have also documented worse outcomes among women than men with severe multivessel/LM CAD. However, the prognostic significance of nonobstructive (1%-49% stenosis) LM CAD, including sex-specific differences, has not been previously examined.

Methods And Results: In the long-term CONFIRM (Coronary CT Angiography Evaluation For Clinical Outcomes: An International Multicenter) registry, patients underwent elective coronary computed tomographic angiography for suspected CAD and were followed for 5 years.

Context: γ-Aminobutyric acid-B receptor 1 (GABABR1) forms a heterodimeric complex with calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) in human brain tissue. However, the expression and implication of GABABR1 in human parathyroid adenoma has not yet been examined.

Objective: The objective of the study was to examine a possible link between GABABR1 and PTH secretion in human parathyroid adenoma Design and Methods: Sixty-five patients who underwent parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) and 29 control patients with normal parathyroid glands were retrospectively included.

The clinical benefit of current anticancer regimens for lung cancer therapy is still limited due to moderate efficacy, drug resistance, and recurrence. Therefore, the development of effective anticancer drugs for first-line therapy and for optimal second-line treatment is necessary. Because the 90-kDa molecular chaperone heat shock protein (Hsp90) contributes to the maturation of numerous mutated or overexpressed oncogenic proteins, targeting Hsp90 may offer an effective anticancer therapy.

Silicon is a promising alternative to current thermoelectric materials (Bi(2)Te(3)). Silicon nanoparticle based materials show especially low thermal conductivities due to their high number of interfaces, which increases the observed phonon scattering. The major obstacle with these materials is maintaining high electrical conductivity.

The present study examined the role of clusterin in insulin resistance in high fat-fed wild-type and clusterin knockout (KO) mice. The plasma levels of glucose and C-peptide and islet size were increased in clusterin KO mice after an 8-week high-fat diet. In an ip glucose tolerance test, the area under the curve for glucose was not different, whereas the area under the curve for insulin was higher in clusterin KO mice.

Kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R) signaling plays a critical role in the regulation of reproduction. We investigated the role of kisspeptin-stimulated KISS1R internalization, recycling, and degradation in the modulation of KISS1R signaling. Kisspeptin stimulation of Chinese hamster ovary or GT1-7 cells expressing KISS1R resulted in a biphasic increase in intracellular Ca(2+) ([Ca(2+)]i), with a rapid acute increase followed by a more sustained second phase.
