Although single bacteria have been applied to the Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) remediation, its efficacy is severely restricted by long degradation periods and low efficacy. A microbial symbiotic system founded by two or more bacterial strains may be an alternative to traditional remediation approaches. Its construction is, however, hampered by antagonistic interactions and remains challenging.

This article describes the design of nine mix proportions of FARMs with a low water/cement ratio and screens six mix proportions with reasonable flowability. The compressive strengths of FARMs were tested, and the influence of the water/cement ratio (/) and age on the compressive strength was analyzed.

This paper proposes an adaptive disturbance rejection Zeta-backstepping control scheme with adjustable damping ratios to enhance system robustness and precision. An iron-core permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) was employed as the experimental platform for the development of a dynamic model that incorporates compensation for friction and cogging forces.

However, the identity, differentiation, and functions of the cells that create critical fibroblastic niches promoting tumor-infiltrating T cells remain elusive. Here, we show that CCL19-expressing fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs) generate interconnected T cell environments (TEs) in human non-small cell lung cancer, including tertiary lymphoid structures and T cell tracks.

Although microbial-induced carbonate/phosphate precipitation (MICP/MIPP) technology has been applied to heavy metal remediation, the relative merits of MICP and MIPP, especially under extreme pH environments, have not yet been documented. In this study, Sporosarcina pasteurii (SP)-based MICP and Bacillus megaterium (BM)-based MIPP were applied to immobilize lead (Pb) in aqueous solution and loess soil.

Methods: In a phase 3, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, we assigned patients to receive durvalumab at a dose of 1500 mg, durvalumab (1500 mg) plus tremelimumab at a dose of 75 mg (four doses only), or placebo every 4 weeks for up to 24 months. Randomization was stratified according to disease stage (I or II vs.
Introduction: With increased incorporation of simulation-based methodologies into quality improvement activities, standards for reporting on simulation-specific elements in healthcare improvement research are needed.
Methods: We followed established consensus process methodology to iteratively create simulation-based extensions for SQUIRE 2.0 reporting guidelines.
Background: Macrophages are key players in obesity-associated cardiovascular diseases, which are marked by inflammatory and immune alterations. However, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying macrophage's role in obesity-induced cardiac inflammation are incompletely understood. Our study aimed to identify the key macrophage population involved in obesity-induced cardiac dysfunction and investigate the molecular mechanism that contributes to the inflammatory response.

This study aimed to develop predictive models for PD risk that combine plasma proteins and easily accessible clinical-demographic variables.
Methods: Using data from the UK Biobank (UKB), which recruited participants across the United Kingdom, we conducted a longitudinal study to identify predictors for incident PD.
Introduction: The influence of deranged body composition on stage I/II hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after surgery remains undetermined. The current study aimed to investigate the impact of low skeletal muscle bulk and disturbed body fat mass on the recurrence outcome of stage I/II HCC patients undergoing liver resection. The associated metabolomic alterations were also assessed.

Here, we design a human PCSK9 mimic, named HIT01, with no consecutive 9-residue stretch in common with any human protein as a potential heart attack vaccine. Murine immunizations with HIT01 reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and cholesterol levels by 40% and 30%, respectively.

Furthermore, it is also affected by hydroxide precipitation (focusing phenomenon) close to the cathode. A modified EK reactor containing a permeable reactive barrier (PRB) was proposed herein where the enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation (EICP) treatment was incorporated into the PRB.

The material was structurally characterized and evaluated in adsorption and photocatalytic processes by testing its removal capacity of a representative pollutant methylene blue (MB) in aqueous solutions and under UV-A and sunlight illuminations. The nanopowders appeared to be more effective adsorbents than pure TiO and WO materials, showing a maximum at 15 mol% W, which was set as the tungsten solubility limit in anatase titania.

However, the lack of specific and efficient therapeutic agents to induce lytic cycle in these cancers is a major challenge facing clinical implementation. We develop a synthetic transcriptional activator that specifically activates endogenous BZLF1 and efficiently induces lytic reactivation in EBV-positive cancer cells.

The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) and stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway is emerging as the major DNA-sensing pathway to invoke immune responses in neuroinflammatory disorders.
Methods: By performing a series of neurobehavioral assessments, electrophysiological analysis, high-throughput sequencing, and cell-based assays based on the transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO) mouse stroke model, we examined the effects and underlying mechanisms of genetic and pharmacological inhibition of the cGAS-STING pathway on long-term post-stroke neurological functional outcomes.
