To describe the distribution of jugular bulb position and pneumatization of posterior lip of internal auditory meatus (IAM) in patients with vestibular schwannoma (VS). This retrospective study included 43 patients who had a thin slice (< 2 mm) CT temporal bone for preoperative planning of retrosigmoid approach for excision of VS between March 2011 and March 2021. On computed tomography (CT), high riding jugular bulb was defined by its relationship to IAM and correlated with type of jugular bulb according to Manjila et al.

WEEV binds protocadherin 10 (PCDH10) as a receptor; however, nonpathogenic strains no longer bind human or equine PCDH10 but retain the ability to bind avian receptors. Highly virulent WEEV strains can also bind the very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) and apolipoprotein E receptor 2 (ApoER2) as alternative receptors.

To assess the medium-term weight loss and maintenance of lean body mass (ideal weight/weight loss maintenance) following the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgical procedure with or without the use of a rigid gastric ring. An observational cohort study with a retrospective approach was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of RYGB with and without a band in patients with morbid obesity. The outcomes were assessed by analyzing data obtained from medical records, including pre- and postoperative data.
